When I re-installed FS2004 on Windows 7 I discovered the kneeboard wouldn't work. It would pop up but was inoperable.
I went to the Flightsim.com forum to ask for help but after two days none was forthcoming. No amount of searching the forum resulted in a fix.
This morning after a couple hours on the internet I found an old 2007 FS.com forum thread on the problem by David 'OPA' Marshall. This was in response to a person who experienced flightsim crashes when he used the kneeboard. Obviously not for Windows 7 because that was two years before Windows 7 came out.
But I tried it anyway and it worked. i now have a functioning kneeboard on FS2004 in Windows 7.
Here's the solution:
Browse to the Flight Simulator 2004 Root folder (Default c:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\) Find and delete or rename the file OLEACC.DLL Restart Flight Simulator
I use the kneeboard for the Rana moving map display of sectionals, terminal area charts, and airport diagrams.
Hope this mght help someone out here. Or maybe you alredy know it.

This one might be worth pinning somewhere. I had the same issue for ages and stumbled upon the same solution. Very helpful.
