...that link to a site with good vintage photos of airfields and aircraft? It was posted sometime in the last few months. It may have been in a scenery-related thread.... or may not.
I lost a batch of bookmarks when my HDD crashed a few weeks ago, including this one I'd really like to re-locate for scenery research purposes. I've searched both this forum and the old forum , but no luck so far.
I think the site had "global" in the name and it may have been old editions of an aviation magazine. Not that those vague thoughts helped in my search.
If anyone can point me to the site or the thread where it was posted, I'd appreciate it very much.
Thanks,
Glenn

Hi Glenn,
Might have been in a thread Adrian Werner (our house historian) started up or contributed to. I'll have a search too.
Cheers, Maarten

Thanks, Tom...
Good sources there, and some were new to me.
I'm still digging for the site I remember, though. I think it was searchable archives for some publication, perhaps a British magazine or multi-volume book set. There were pix of old colonial airports, IIRC.
Cheers,
Glenn

Glenn,
Just noticed you're already on this!
Hopefully of interest to others 'though.

I think I recall the one called "Abandoned Airfields" coming up from time to time - on rereading I see it's on Tom's list but this site seems popular. ( www.airfields-freeman.com/) Seems to be mainly USA. For the UK try;- www.oldairfields.fotopic.net/There is one I keep stumbling on for the Pacific but can't seem to find it.
