I not only look at Jesse as a friend, but also as a vault of knowledge and experience that he has so gratiously shared with us over the years. His stories are great to read and follow, and he puts his readers in the seat right along side of him. He flew in an age of aviation that will never be as exciting and glory-filled. My only experience with older aircraft from his past came about in the late 1970's. We had several Beech 18's at a facility that I flew at, and my boss was one fine Beech 18 pilot. On several occasions I flew with him in both taildraggers and Volpar varients. Looking back on those flights, I am reminded of Jesse and how his career was built upon those old radials and how those days, in my opinion, were filled with romance between pilot and airplane. Nothing in this world compares to flying those old oil burning, smokey, leaking aircraft. I can honestly say that I am a better person by knowing Jesse. I hope that Jesse can remain a part of our little community for many years to come, even if for only a few precious lines telling of his past. Thank you VERY MUCH, my friend. We have several things in common and I know many feel as I do about you. You raised a good batch of successful children and protected us in service to our country. You are part of a rare breed and I salute you, my friend. Tell that bad eyesight to step aside. You still have work to do!! Don Moser
