Tom is right.
I have shelved the Caribbean project for the next couple of months. I needed a break from another regional project. The last regional project I released was massive and took over one year to finish, involved well over 100 custom airports, took hundreds of hours of investigation to create correctly. It was overwhelming, even as Tom and Wolfgang stepped in to help complete it. The fruits of all this labor was only 280 downloads in a year and a half's time. Because of this result, I felt as there was no need to rush on the next project. So Caribbean, and Eastern Europe sit on the back burner.
Instead I spent my last year helping Tom with updating the AI project, and with working on CA59 scenery. I think only Long Beach, Inyokern, Torrance and Hawthorne remain. Then I can go back to my personal projects in FS.
And other thing....it was only this May that I got my new computer up and running so I could actually fly in FS. My old dinosaur computer was too slow, so I had ceased all flying in FS in 2007. Since then I had only created scenery and AI, but not flown. So I have spent my last couple of months flying and working on AI and scenery.

Hey Mike, I'm sorry to hear that your hard work got such little attention, I realize that scenery design (especially regional scenery) can take many long hours and lots of dedication and digging through records, photos, charts, etc. There is no need to rush the Caribbean or Eastern Europe, but either way I'm still excited for them both. Its nice to see that CA59 and the AI are getting updated, the AI is really quite fine (no issues whatsoever on my end) but CA59 and 62 is in need of a update quite honestly. Not to say that the work is bad, it looks magnificent, but it is looking slightly dated. I'm glad that you have your new computer up and running also, time to put in some hours, huh? Btw I have updated the list once more, I have just now finished modeling Brewster Hangar

Chris, have you downloaded the beta update to CA59/62 from this link? calclassic.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=screenies&action=display&thread=4899&page=4Most of the files listed (AI package and Classic Libraries) you probably already have by now. Lots of pictures of the update in the previous pages of that thread. Most of the major airports have already been updated; it's just the few that Mike listed we still have to do, plus a couple of new airports we are keeping secret for now.

Yeah, I know. I tend to pick non mainstream sceneries, that that right there tends to eliminate 90% of FS flyers, especially in the United States. Usually the folks interested in out of the way locations for scenery come from Europe. Dennis Kim was of great help with information on Korea, without him it would not have turned out as accurate as it did. As for the CA59 update, I told Tom I would do the following: Fresno, Apple Valley, Inyokern, Imperial, Blythe, Santa Ana, Long Beach, Palm Springs, Tahoe Valley, Hawthorne and Torrance. In addition I did Catalina, Tri-cities and Big Bear, plus any AI work that needed doing. Most of the old existing scenery was out of date and it was best to "bulldoze" everything and start from scratch. After not flying in FS for six years I was rusty to say the least. Still, it comes back to you, like riding a bike.

Hi,
I count 1424 downloads, only on Avsim. It went slow, but it went. For sure you will hit the 3000th in some time.
Cheers Wolfgang

Hi,
Dennis just mentioned he'd rather do unusual location than mainstream.
I already wondered. When recently installing FS/CC all over again I realized how much coverage we have in some parts of the world (thanks to Wolfgang and team, to a great extend) and how patchy it is in the Eastern/Central US. The US West Coast, again, is different.
I'm perfectly happy flying around in Europe, Africa or Asia with Classic airports, but I was wondering why major cities like Boston or Atlanta appear on CC only now.
Best regards, Volker

Well I suppose it would be because no one has really offered to do them. I've got a long list already on the way, and many more will be coming to that list, most likely in the US, so if you have any suggestions dont be afraid to let me know

Partially, it's because Mike and I live on the West Coast... Luckily Chris and others have started to fill in the gap.

Great news guys! AFAIK, Newark is DONE! ;D I'll be handing it over to Tom today for his critique and fix anything he says needs to be fixed, and hopefully I'll have it to you guys before the end of the month! I've really enjoyed making this project for you guys and I can't wait to finally move on to Washington!

Just downloaded and had a quick look from various parking positions. Congratulations on a great piece of work. Looking forward to your next project.
