Came across this great photo of Ernie in the State of Hawaii online archives hawaii.gov/hawaiiaviation/aviation-photos/1940-1949/john-rodgers-airport/honolulu-airport/PP%20BAC%20Aviation.jpg/ha_image_view_fullscreenThe crew (Ernie in the center) look as if they have just arrived on the shining Matson DC-4 behind them - inaugural flight? This is an outstanding resource for Hawaiian aviation over the years. While there are some mis-labled or mis-dated photos, they are generally pretty obvious. Many aircraft photos over the years - the Clippers, Hawaiian Air S-43 and DC-3s as well as the later BIG Iron. I could spend several weeks going through them all. Something to enjoy as we enter winter's icy grip here on the mainland. Hy
