Hi, Happy Holidays to everyone! Edd, that is President Truman's DC-6, the "Independence". Painted to resemble the American Eagle.

Hi Tom,
Originally I put an other screenie in this thread, but it turned out that that particular aircraft suffered a fatal crash a couple of years ago. Therefore I thought it would be tasteless to leave that screenie there, hence this winter scene of "The Independence".
Edd, the aircraft on the original screenie was a Fokker S.11 'Instructor' primary trainer. It has been in use for decades with the Royal Netherlands Air Force. Also used by the Israeli Air Force. License-built by Aermacchi and I.M.A.M. as Macchi M.416 for use with the Italian Air Force, and by Fokker Brazil. FS2004/FSX model (as Macchi M-416) available at Flightsim.com and Simbiation.com.
Cheers, Maarten

Hi all Greetings from the Adirondacks. Cold and snowy as usual here. Key West (or anywhere warm) starting to sound pretty good.
Happy Holidays to everyone and all the best for 2009!
As always a special thanks to Tom for (mostly) keeping me out of FS trouble for another year.

The local TV station is predicting 38 degrees for tomorrow morning (Tues) and a high of 80 the next day. I'm originally from Sabattus, Maine so im not complaining about the temporary cold.
Merry Christmas everyone !!!

Hi, LOL! I haven't told you all yet that I will be in the LA area starting tomorrow, and then back on Friday or Saturday. And then I will be in Arizona (seeing Mike Stevens' new house) starting the next Tuesday (over the New Year), and back the next weekend. So you can all come here if you like, but I won't be. I'll be checking my email and the forum, but only once or twice a day. Happy Holidays,

Seasons Greetings! My Sicere Best Wishes for the coming New Year! I know that 2008 was a rough year for many here @ Cal Classics.
As Jason said it has been trying up here in the Pacific NW. In fact my hands are frozen, as the hanger doors are wide open, as they swap out 9 thawed-out planes for frozen ones. Last night I wished I had my camera, because it was an eerie sight here at PDX, as there was hardly any planes at the gates, and the ones here around the hanger were packed in snow drifts. I have been forced to ride the bus to work. Last night it was pretty good only waited 2 minutes for busses, today though it was a different story. It took me 2 1/2 hours to get home, and I waited 2 hours for a bus in tonight. Last night I just couldn't figure out why the shuttle bus to the Airport was packed full of people with their bags, going to a closed Airport with no planes in or out, and no food service places open. It was all over the TV, every 5 minutes that all flights were canceled, plus all the Motels, Hotels, were notified. I guess "Hope Springs Eternal" when it comes to flying. BTW: It's not that I can't drive in the stuff, it's just the Yahoo's at the Condo complex have 11 cars smashed together at the bottom of the hill, blocking the driveway out of the complex.
