Shalom and greetings all my pals,
For past 2 years, I have FSDZigns L-049 Constellation with year version 2008 for use of FSX SP1 and SP2 which I have no problem flying it. Everything works well.
But I have one question on this latest model base. Does it come with cool smoke effects? Does it have cool engine start smoke effects? Does it have cool taxi smoke effects?
I am totally baffled that my FSDZigns L-049 Constellation with year version 2008 for use of FSX SP1 and SP2 does not have any smoke effects and I looked at the files of the model base which showed no smoke effect files.
Please take look at this video showing amazing cool taxi smoke effects of FSDZigns L-049 Constellation as seen on the link below. Is this part of the model package or did the video person custom-created cool smoke effects for this plane for his own use??
Here is video:
Thanks for any help any of you might offer.
Regards,
Aharon

Hi,
That is the FS Smoke System, which is supposed to simulate a fuel dump in this aircraft.
Press the I key to get the smoke/fuel.
Hope this helps,

Tom, Thanks for answer I will try this trick!!
But what about engine start smokes?? This model base does not have engine start smokes. I have all other different model bases of Constellations from Cal Classics download center that have amazing engine start smokes.
This FSDZigns L-049 Constellation with year version 2008 for use of FSX SP1 and SP2 does not have engine start smokes.
Or do I need to press I key button too to get engine start smokes?
Regards,
Aharon

I tried "I" key button and so far no effect. I notice that the smoke effect or "I" key button feature has been disabled only only for this model base called FSDZigns L-049 Constellation with year version 2008 for use of FSX SP1 and SP2. I do not know why.

If you are using some sort of FSX conversion, then I don't know if it has smoke or not.
If not there already, you could try adding this to the aircraft.cfg file:
[SMOKESYSTEM]
smoke.0=0.423, 15.814, 13.683, fx_ConnieFuelDump smoke.1=0.423, 15.814, -13.683, fx_ConnieFuelDump
You should also check if fx_ConnieFuelDump.fx is in your FS Effects folder.
Hope this helps,

Looking at the video, one can see some puffy smoke in flight, then a whitish cloud on the ground, which I suspect is just caused by snow-covered runways/taxiways (set by weather condition/season), and then some that looks like startup smoke on shutting down the engines. Whether one actually wants any of this I am not really sure. On an FSX setup it seems like going retro with a vengeance.
Sorry, didn't mean to sound negative.

Tom,
Thanks I will try this trick and check effects too. BTW, I did not do FSX conversion. This model base model base called FSDZigns L-049 Constellation (year version 2008) was created by ZSDZings for the sole purpose of use for FSX SP1 and SP2 unless somebody tells me that some person made unauthorized FSX conversion to the model base called FSDZigns L-049 Constellation with year version 2008 for use of FSX SP1 and SP2 and uploaded the model base to flightsim and avsim websites.
MJahn,
Yes I understand your reasoning and analysis on the video but the problem is that in my FSX, the model base called FSDZigns L-049 Constellation with year version 2008 for use of FSX SP1 and SP2 in my FSX does NOT have engine start smokes.
I have other versions of Super Constellations by different software companies downloaded from CalClassic download center that give me awesome and cool engine start smokes with cool exhaust flames.
The model base called FSDZigns L-049 Constellation with year version 2008 for use of FSX SP1 and SP2 does not have engine start smokes and does not have cool exhaust flames.
Oh well does not matter. I will try to figure it out.
Regards,
Aharon

Bernardo,
You also have flame effects too on this fsdzigns-049-constellation too? I do not have.
Can you post here the aircraft.cfg so that I can see what is missing in my aircraft.cfg, please?
Thanks,
Aharon

After re-examining the aircraft.cfg, the aircraft.cfg has startup=fsdzigns_engstrt_049 in effects paragraph section but I do not see file called fsdzigns_engstrt_049 in the effects folder of FSX.
Also, the aircraft.cfg is missing its smokesystem paragraph and I do not have fx_ConnieFuelDump in the effects folder of FSX too.
So where can I find those effects files, please?
Thanks,
Aharon

Download the original FS2004 version by FSDZigns - they should be in there. It's listed on my Constellation page.
