As Harry mentioned above, he and Nikko already worked on a RAF Transport Command traffic some years ago. I installed the files kindly made available by Harry and discovered some interesting sceneries which might be welcome addons to Dave's package. Here screenshots of two airfields:
RAF Station El Adem, Libya HL0L Prior to 31 March 1970 the airfield was known as Royal Air Force Station El Adem and used by the RAF primarily as a staging-post.
A similar scenery is included in Dave's package.
RN Station Hal Far, Malta LMMH The RAF Hal Far airfield was the first permanent airfield to be built on Malta. It was opened in 1929 as a Royal Navy base and was used by Royal Navy air crews.
Nikko and Harry created several Afcad, interestingly some in the Malaysian back country. They also proposed different AI aircraft with various repaints. As I have been told, priorities where then set on other projects, and for these reasons this traffic package has never been completed. Meanwhile further appropriated sceneries have been released, especially those for the Far East route done by Ian Elliot.

Hello again, I'm away on holiday at the moment and so have not looked at the project for a couple of weeks. Those files and screenshots from the previous package by Nikko and Harry look good! Thanks for putting them up, Dan. I'll have a proper look at them when I get home. Solotk, my download is not *too* large but other downloads are required to provide the ai aircraft and places for them to park. Thanks for the info on 'Air Clues'. I'll look that up when I get back home. I scoured the Flight archive and lots of the flights I created come directly from articles and other snippets I've found. Anyway, back to the holiday..!

Hi Dave, Great to find you have started working on RAF traffic files for Silver Wings. I also have started creating some RAF traffic and so you are welcome to add what little I have done to your package. I have attached the traffic file that I have created for the 4 Squadrons of Blackburn Beverleys 84 Sqn - Khormaksar 34 Sqn - Seletar 47 Sqn & 53 Sqn - Abingdon Traffic_RAF Transport command Beverly.bgl (37.21 KB) The flight plans are totally fictional (of course) but it does get the Beverleys appearing around the world. The Beverly I am using is the FS2002 model by Ralph Pegram, Brian Horsey & Bob Hazeldine. It is downloadable from Flightsim.com (comes in 3 parts). There is also an upgrade available (or was available) on Britsim.com which appears to be offline at the moment. I am currently working (very slowly) on the flight plans for the Scottish Twin Pioneer squadrons. Hope it helps Gavin

Thanks for creating a further RAF traffic. There are some unusual and interesting legs. May I just add following comments: You have two different versions in aircraft.txt, but only one paint schema with FS2002 Beverley. Without modifying both lines AI wouldn't be shown. BTW, I suggest to add "atc_parking_codes=RAF" in aircraft.cfg and make shure, that approprated parking spots at airports like OYAA Aden are coded as well. Otherwise the Beverley will park at civil part. In your flightplan.txt the registrations are missing for AC#5. The file can't be compiled. You scheduled some flights to WMKK Kuala Lumpur Sepang. This airport opened in 1998 only. CalClassic Asia Pacific 1962 scenery deletes thsi airport anyway. You might replace it by WMKF Simpang (or Sempang) Airport, the former RAF Kuala Lumpur station shared with civil aviation, and included in the said scenery. Some default airports like HKRE Eastleigh or OKAJ Ahmed Al Jaber AB have only runways - no links, no parkings. Into which folder do we install the Beverly .bgl file? Where you installed your other traffic flles (either a special folder or Scenery/World/scenery as by default). Cheers, Bernard

Hi, Here is v2 of the Beverley flight plans. I have removed the 47 sqn aircraft since the repaint is un-available and also fixed the visits to Kuala Lumpur Airport. I left in the flights to Eastleigh and the others that don't have parking as I plan (hope) to get around to updating the airfields. Traffic_RAF Transport command Beverly.bgl (37.13 KB) Thanks Gavin

Once I did a very basic scenery for HKRE Eastleigh.
Regarding OKAJ Ahmed Al Jaber AB I think that wasn't right anyway. During the Kuwait crisis in 1961 RAF moved several aircraft to Kuwait City Airport.

Hello again, It has been far too long since I last replied on here - Summer has come and the weather is playing along, so time on the package and on the computer in general, has slowed down. But not completely stopped! Gavin, the addition of the Beverley would be great. She's such a characterful aeroplane. I have read that 'flying the Beverly was like flying a council house from the upstairs bathroom window'! I was also thinking of starting some Twin Pin flighplans but have not started, so will defer to you. I did find this, which might be useful: www.rafmuseum.org.uk/documents/collections/69-A-217-Twin-Pioneer.pdfAny other contributions would be very gratefully received - I would like to offer a simple installation and am awaiting some permissions to use models, paints and scenery. Hopefully in sometime in the autumn (when the nights draw in!) I can work in earnest and complete something worthwhile. If anyone else would like to join in, this list of RAF squadrons could be quite useful. To represent just a fraction would be great! sg-etuo.de/bilder/RAF1963.pdfDan, would you be happy for the Eastleigh scenery to be included? Best Regards Dave

Dan, would you be happy for the Eastleigh scenery to be included? You might use it if you like. However there aren't any navaids added - it's for AI only.

Hello Dave and "Dan Cooper", I have just read this nice topic and would like to mention that I have built an AI version of the Blackburn Beverley for Harry and Nikko's RAF Transport Command traffic project. Also some static models wich can be placed anywhere in the scenery. Here are a few shots of the AI Beverley. There are no moving flight controls in the AI model, just the flaps. I kept it as simple as possible Here you can see some of the static Bevs in the background. (open rear cargo doors or just parked with a small ladder up front) When the AI Beverley parks an airstair pops up in the rear and a small ladder at the fwd entry door. If you want to try the models out I'll be happy to send them to you Cheers, Jaap

Hi Jaap, That Bev looks fantastic and I'd love to include it. It also addresses my slight concern of using non-AI models. So far all but the Comet 2 are AI - or at least simplified for better AI use. Best Regards Dave

Hi Jaap, I got a copy of your AI Beverley when I bugged Harry into sending me his and Nikko's Transport Command files. I must say it is great and very frame rate friendly.
I don't suppose you have a paint kit for it? If not I will try to create one.
thanks Gavin
