Maaaan, that thing handles like brick. that she does, but i think it was a great era in aviation. I just enjoy flying the planes from that era.

There's only one destination missing for a complete Trans-Pacific experience ... KaiTak field in Kowloon. I do my Trans-Pac flying with GW3 scenery using scenery from the Payware PILOTS Boeing B-314 for Pearl City, Wake, Guam, and Manila. For Treasure Island and Midway I use Ken Fox's scenery. While GW3 does a nice job of backing down Hong Kong in general, I'm still stuck with a long runway and no place for a seaplane base like I have in my FSX install for the CBI. I did find a reasonably flat area off the left end of the runway ... but it REALLY needs Ken Fox to put a Pan Am facility there (very unsubtle hint)!
If I could get my stupid Abacus EZ scenery thing to work, I might try putting something together ... or just continue to pretend that I have a place to tie up and drop my passengers.

Tom ... more than good enough! I think I need to put a ramp where that blue creek is (since if you drive on it, you get a "dirt dust" effect. Location is good enough as well. Maybe a building or two more, a dock or seawall ... or JUST LET IT BE! Using that location for the Pan Am facility is great since it matches the bearing to the ndb! How lucky can one guy get?
Thanks, as always.
Bill
PS .. is there anything you don't know? (said with a BIG GRIN on my face)!

More and more every day, as I get older... At one time I was playing with that airport, thinking about modifying it into a 1957 version of Kai Tak. It was fun trying to get a DC-6B into it.

It's rather annoying to attempt and maintain level flight with flight acceleration. If not, can the Autopilot panel be imported from another plane? I've imported GPS' before to FSX payware that didn't have it. It's kind of a fail when payware doesn't have GPS or an autopilot for that matter.

If by that thing you mean the M130, yes it should have the Sperry Autopilot from the DC3.

I wouldn't mind giving pre-war Kai Tak a shot as it isn't that complicated a scenery. What I lack is the ability to modify the coast line. I've read that it isn't that difficult but it is beyond my 42 year old father of 3 powers to comprehend. If someone would be willing to modify the land, I'd try the rest of the scenery. Pictures of the coastline can be furnished.

sak1134 ... the Kai Tak that Tom pointed me to has the pre-expansion coast line. It has 2 runways, paved instead of 1 grass strip. I will make it a point to spend some time there comparing it to what information I have.

Hi, The post war Kai Tak did have two paved runways, for landing the propliners. You can always backdate it, of course.

Thanks for the heads up on the post war Kai Tak. As you said it is indeed the pre war coast line so that removes that obstical. I will certainly give it a shot, and possible look at doing an exclude file to wipe out New Kai Tak.
Like buying a used car from a man with a bad suit on a buy here pay here lot. I make no gaurantees as to the quality, accuracy, or timely delivery of said scenery.
