Here are the flt sim sections from DC-6b acft.cfg:

Passengers also appreciated their smooth, quiet ride. United had 43 DC-6B's, and used them throughout their US system. atc_airline=United atc_flight_number=583 atc_heavy=0 visual_damage=1 prop_anim_ratio=0.9
[fltsim.1] title=Douglas DC-6B Northeast Airlines sim=dc6b model= panel= sound= texture=ne kb_checklists= kb_reference=dc6b_ref atc_id=N6586C ui_manufacturer=Douglas ui_type=DC-6B ui_variation=Northeast Airlines 1958 description=The DC-6B was generally considered to possess the best operating economics of any piston airliner built. The folders in this file are:
All CC Liveries model model.nonradar model.spin_nonradar model.spinner panel sound texture.united
The texture.ne folder is displayed in pictures (?) Not at all sure how that happened or how to copy same. Hope this is what you want. Thanks br

The texture.ne folder must be sitting alongside the texture.united folder. If it is located anywhere else, move it so those two texture folders are side by side. The display of a folder's contents is controlled by the View menu or drop down box (upper right). Displaying as pictures is one of the choices (Thumbnails), I usually use Details.

By chance, is your texture=ne actually inside your texture=united folder?
Like Tom said, if it is, then move that whole texture=ne outside into the main DC-6B folder. Each aircraft texture folder must be its own little folder. It is not uncommon to have 10 or even 15 different texture= folders all sitting inside your aircraft's folder. Each paint job will have its own texture folder.
