Sorry, but the FS-Berlin C-124 is it for now. Some have been asking Jens if he would do a new one and he has shown some interest in doing so, so here's hoping. I was grateful when he did the C-74, I was surprised after searching around that no one had done one. It would be great if we could get some of FS-Berlin's old models done over again, like the Electra. There are still some of the twins from that era that haven't been done like the other models of the Electra, the Lodestar, etc., something along the lines of Milton Shupe's D18, which is still one of the best out there.

Sorry, but the FS-Berlin C-124 is it for now. Some have been asking Jens if he would do a new one and he has shown some interest in doing so, so here's hoping. Well, waiting for the new, I'm trying out the old... under FS2004... ( to twiddle my fingers waiting is just not me). Graphically the plane is not so bad, even if some of the animations do not work ( cowl flaps, noticeably) it's still quite nice and I'm willing to oversee the little problems of the graphical part. Where this plane doesn't really make it, is under the point of view of the dynamics. The problems, under the point of view of the plane's behavior, are not little things, but huge disasters. It was to be expected, after all, and hardly a disappointment. From FS2002 to FS2004 the simulator's engine made quite a leap ( surely a wider leap than from FS9 to FSX), but it is annoying, and the plane behaves so bad that I'm thinking about adapting to it the dynamics of a B377... I know I must sound insane to you all, but what do you people think? Would it be coherent? I mean, the two planes had the same engines after all ( though the props were different, four blades the B377 and three the C-124... I could always paste over the starliner's props... or not?). It would be only to make it usable on my FS9. What do you think? I guess I'm getting into patchworking with dynamics. ;D BTW, if my idea is not so totally insane to grant me one of those nice white shirts with the odd sleeves tied in the back and the everlasting scorn of the whole flightsim community, could someone please give me a link to a page where I could find reliable sources about the C-124 ( I don't want to make it a B377 under different appearance and will try tweaking here and there, compatibly with my abilities in the field)? Any help would be really appreciated.

Hi, My model of the Bristol Brabazon has been available at Avsim for more than a year now! Go to www.avsim.com, and search for Brab_01.zip. Or use my last name (Kristensen) as the search word, and you'll find a lot of planes you might like to download. You can limit your search to 'FSX Original Aircraft' if you want - my planes work with FS2004 as well. Best regards Jens

ashaman,
If you want some new flight dynamics for the old FS2002 C-124, my C-74 would probably be the best place to start.
The B377 and the Globemasters used different versions of the same basic engine. The B377 was designed to fly high and fast, the C-124 (and C-74) flew not-so-high and not-so fast!
Hope this helps,
Jens

Hi, My model of the Bristol Brabazon has been available at Avsim for more than a year now! I cannot but beg forgiveness and repent my heinous sins. How could I have lost it, I will never know. Oh, woe is me. Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa. Thank you for having showed me the path of the light. Downloading it right now, tomorrow ( it's almost midnight here now) will bring it up for a flight. ashaman, If you want some new flight dynamics for the old FS2002 C-124, my C-74 would probably be the best place to start. Thank you for the suggestion. Remains the different propeller, but that is quite easily taken care of. ;D Tomorrow, after having tried the Brabazon, will begin working on it.

OK, Jens,
Your C-74 is great, Jens; another triumph! THANKS!
Allright, now Jens, maybe no Lockheed Constitution, but how about a C-124? ;D

Hey Jens, you don't happen to have any sort of paint kit available for the C-74 or something you can slap together and send my way do you? I want to do some VA repaints and I'm horrible with metal textures.

Jensbk.....in the read me file you state the following......
"If you have FSX Gold, FSX Service Pack 2, or the Acceleration expansion pack, remember to enable "FSX SP2 support" in the "Custom setup" dialog."
I have FSX Service Pack 2 and I dont know where to find 'Custom setup". All help appreciated...

I didnt even notice that before when i first installed it. My problem is that I am not getting any texture at all on this JBK C-74 as well as the JBK DC-6. All other aircraft look just fine. They work perfectly in FS9 though. I haven't changed anything on either aircraft.
I'll keep working on it.

I just downloaded CH-47D_chinook_haa.zip and it shows up without textures as well. Thinking about reinstalling FSX. I'm missing something here.

I believe I've seen something like that in another forum. People changed their UAC (User Activation Control) settings and the textures came back ... Manfred
