Picked this bad boy up yesterday. Takes a little book learning (RTFM) to start her up from cold and dark, but she flies great and looks great. Now for somebody to create some classic American repaints (not me..too busy at work right now.) There is a paint kit released today though at the Justflight site. Hoping that fixed the issue. E

Sorry, the pics are not showing up for me. Amazon says "file not found". I think it looks OK from other pics I've seen. But I'm still an FS9 guy, so I let others comment on FSX models.

Yes, I know. And it is pretty good. However, the VC still has a lot of black and white drawn areas which take away the feeling of beeing in a real flightdeck. I hope that sometime this freeware F-27 is even further improved.
Kind regards,
Henri

I asked for improved textures, but no one stepped up...

What textures need to be made/improved? I might be able to do something perhaps, but no guarantees as I've never worked with aircraft VC's.

Chris, Tom, I just started to work on the texture files myself. I am looking for good pictures of the overhead panel. Who knows if some gauges could be added as well.
Regards,
Henri

Hi Tom, Thanks a lot for the links. In the meantime I started working on the VC of the F-27. Unfortunately the positioning of the gauges in the panel.cfg is not exactly straightforward. The X-Y coordinates do not refer to just one area in the cockpit, but many areas that seem to be randomly scattered. Also many places where I thought I could position a gauge or a switch are not accessible at all. As a result it looks like I can hardly increase the functionality of the VC. However, I can improve the looks of the virtual flightdeck, so this is what I will focus on. Below I post two screen shots of work in progress. If you remember how the original VC looked like, you might spot the differences. Let me know what you think. Best regards, Henri
