Hi all, Mike Stevens and I have updated the 1958 Denver Stapleton scenery package by Randy Cain and myself. While Stapleton's buildings have not been changed, all the ramp equipment, oilspots, parking lots, roads, and other vehicles have been updated to the latest versions. In addition, the 34 small Rocky Mountain airports with airline service (in Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana) have been updated with the same things, as well as terminals and hangars from the new Classic Terminals and Classic Hangars libraries (no longer any default buildings are present). You can download it here: www.calclassic.com/files/Stapleton1958.zipEnjoy,

As someone who regularly flies the old Northwest Airlines routes through the Rockies, this is an absolutely boon; thanks guys! I just need to work out how to make some elevation corrections as I use FSGenesis 19m mesh and it's causing some issues at places like Billings, but it's a minor issue for me.
Cheers,
Andy

Can any of the buildings be recycled in a 1980s version or were they all gone or heavily altered (terminal) by that time?

Historic Aerials has a 1991 Stapleton overhead image and it was very different then; I don't know what the 1980's version looked like. There are almost no buildings the same in that image. www.historicaerials.com/Enter kden in the search box. Choose the 1993 Aerial on the left. Zoom out a bit with the mouse wheel. Follow the freeway back to the left (towards Denver). It will turn south; when you get to the first freeway intersection, go west (left). You will see the Stapleton runways cross over the freeway. Choose the 1991 Aerial on the left. Hope this helps,

BTW, Randy was working on a 1967 version, but never finished it. Might have been useful for the 1970s too, if the big terminal expansion happened after that.

Historic Aerials' is a great source for information, but ever since they updated their page a few months ago, I'm having a bit of trouble with usability. So for DEN, I've so far pulled a few photos from Google Earth, which has a pretty good overview from 1993. And you're right, when looking closer, the differences are indeed significant.
The only thing I could recycle from Randy's scenery would be the tower and concourses B and C. But they would look rather weird when combined with stock buildings representing the newer annexes. Guess I have to resort to default buildings in that case.
Any other airport in the States sharing a terminal architecture similar to DEN? Might facilitate recreating the airport.

Hi,
The modern Sea-Tac has a large curved terminal, but I don't know if it's even close?

Good idea, but the layout is, sadly, vastly different.
