I had Silent Service as well, I think it was that game that set me off on Sub Sims, did any of you have Destroyer Command, for those of you that don't know some guys with DC would go on-line and battle it out with the guys who played Silent hunter 2, the two game could be married up? As for the Train sims, one of the things that is starting to annoy me is, there are routes and trains available for downloading, some routes are very large downloads, when you install them the sim fails to load and crashes to desk top with errors of files either missing or can't be read.

Installing new routes is tricky. The size of downloads is bug too. I read the tutorial from train-sim, 1st and it's a must read. In all route downloads there is this little thing called exe.bat that must be ran first or your new route will do just what you said. Also if you download a route with multiple files you must zip them all to a common folder first, then move to route folder in MSTS, then run the exe.bat. Hope this helps......

Hi QX,
Yeah, I done that thanks my friend, even then some don't load, I've even had some with no install.exe file, not sure if it is right but i copied and pasted one from another route and done the business, it seems to work.
As I typed the post above this one I was downloading a route then, 100+ meg and that failed with lots of files not being read or missing.

Hmmm, add some wings, and a shaft with a prop anf who knows it will fly!
Lol..
Cool pictures, it remembers great times. to as we say here, '' trees growing up to heaven''
Anyhow, it gives me a melancholic feeling seeing those old workhorses rot away after being there in the old days. But I have that with all sort of things. Where I work we have some plants put in 'the mottballs' for years, and they show the same, a glimpse to the good old days long gone. Ever played the recently fallout3 FPS ? thats the feeling I try to explain. Same I have when starting an old propliner.. maybe I am having the first feelings of getting old, albeit only 43 years, it makes my mind go wandering in a what if state..
Great pics!

You Know Jesse, the funny thing about those shots, at the Wyoming Missile Ranch, we did not have planes or a runway, but we had a locomotive that looked exactly like that one. It was to move warheads & rocket motors. Thanks again for sharing. Johan: That probably explains why I love trains as much as planes, because who would ever thought that someone in the Air Force spent more time around a locomotive instead of a bomber or fighter.

Imagine the conversation: "What did you do in the air force Daddy?" "I worked with signals." "Oh, you mean sending messages and code that sort of thing?" "No, I mean signals, as in stopping trains."

Yep, the USAF (SAC in particular) had dozens of these 40 tonners used for ICBM haulers.
