Will all CalClassic planes such as Jahn's products work in FSX Stream?
Thanks,
Aharon

If it works in FSX it should work in FSX: Steam Edition.

AFAIK there are no compatibility differences between FSX and FSX Steam.

I've been using the Steam Edition and haven't found anything yet for FSX that won't work. And most of the FS9 stuff does as well.

Thanks, Willy
I am ruling out FSX Steam edition because I do not want my next new laptop to be held hostage to Steam website. In other words, I do not want my next new laptop to be connected all the time to Steam website while flying on FSX.
So it is either FSX Deluxe with SP1 and SP2 or P3D. People told me they have no problem using FS9 and FSX plane add ons on P3D!!!

Aharon

FSX:SE has an "offline" mode which allows you to run it without having to be connected to the internet.

FSX:SE has an "offline" mode which allows you to run it without having to be connected to the internet. You sure? And can it be done while connected to Vatsim? Regards, Aharon

Other people are saying you need an internet connection to start Steam first. Then you can go into Steam Offline mode and start FSX:SE. Well, since you are connected to the internet when connected to Vatsim does it really make a difference? After login Steam uses virtually no online resources, AFAIK. Here's how to set it up in FSX:SE - steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=417314943

I've been flying online with SE using FS Host with very few issues. Keep in mind that SE is FSX Gold with some improvements beyond what Microsoft did (I haven't had to tweak a thing). When I made the decision just over a year ago to try FSX, I couldn't find a later edition box set (SP2, Acceleration or Gold) for under $175 which put those way out of my price range (I'm retired and have the empty wallet to prove it). FSX SE however normally goes for just under $30 and I've seen it on sale a few times for $5 (the first time right after I paid full price). No discs, but supposedly an easy download if you need to re-install.

Thanks Tom and Willy for answers. I will avoid FSX Steam since I do not want to start FSX by connecting to Steam first. Not interested into having my laptop hijacked to Steam website. Some guy in BFL virtual has no problem flying Jahn DC-3s in P3D!!!!!! FSX Deluxe with SP1 and SP2 as well as P3D are leading candidates for my next new planned laptop. Not being able to fly for almost 2 weeks is driving me crazy!!! My FSX Deluxe with SP1 and SP2 is no longer working due to some stupid D3D11.DLL error and there is something screwed up in Windows 7 in my four or five year old laptop which is working fine and very fast in all other softwares. FSX and IE are the only things that are not working in my laptop that passed all scan tests and diagnostic tests with flying colors meaning that there is something wrong with some Windows files that prevent FSX and IE from operating . Thank God for Firefox and Chrome!! So I have to shop around for new laptop and will have to decide between FSX Deluxe With SP1 and SP2 and P3D. Regards, Aharon

AFAIK the latest versions of the Jahn DC-3 are FSX native, which work OK in P3D. It is the FS9 aircraft that are not compatible.
