Dear friends,
I try to fly with the beautiful aircrafts DC-6 and DC-7 designed by Greg Pepper. But... my FSX acceleration simulator crashes as soon as I see the plane in the viewing window. And the panel is in charge of this crash. I have followed your notices, using the FSX installator, I have put the // in front of the of the line "=dsd_supercharger!supercharger_transparent, 94,248,20,20"; I have copied the dsd_fsx_xml_sound2.dll and dsd_xml_config.gau files found inside the FSX/SimObjects/Airplanes/[panel name]/FSX Conversion folder into your FSX/Gauges folder. You will overwrite an older dsd_xml_config.gau file. Why? .... But its crashes! Would you please help me ? Thank You in advance.

Hi,
You did everything I know about. Try this:
1. Put // in front of every gauge that starts with dsd and try that.
2. Put // in front of every gauge that does not start with Z_DC6KM or Z_DC6KMTG
Hope this helps,

I'd offer an alternative approach.
I have imported and updated hundreds of older FS2K2 and FS9 acft (and ships) into FSX succesfully and I find the easiest thing to first do is simple replace the Sound and Panel folders with blanks.
I rename the old folder thus: \Panel_ and \Sound_
Then I created a new set of \Sound and \Panel and place blank text files in each to match standard FS cfg's -- for instance panel.cfg and sound.cfg
Thus I can view and check any plane without crashes.
Then once I have confirmed that the model works (and after editing .air file, prop textures etc...) I then match up an appropriate panel to the new acft.
BTW, I have taken dozens of panel and sound folders from my favorite acft and placed them \FSFSConv folder (like FS9 always had) and reference to them in my converted models.
Just my thoughts on ways to enjoy older models in FSX.
PS: I also have successfully used simple hex editing trick to import many very lovely CFS2 models into FSX as well.

Thank you everybody! I am going to try the first proposal, which seems to keep the essential of the panels. One after the other, I shall add lines of orders.I shall see well the one who creates an error. See you soon. Daniel
