Note:
Project is not abandoned at all, it's just in PAUSE until i finish "Rio de la Plata II" for FS91.
I hope, to continue to work on it on 2020, to finish most important things on LFLY and around.
I will publish here in the forum, in 2020, once i complete at last LFLY, a download link, for the big .zip with the "WIP" version of the whole RA1960 Prepar3V4 project (for those people are interested)
I prefere to publish, the download link, because there are years i talk about this project on this forum, and for for the "final release version", i start to think, that is not for the next years...
(Project is already flyable and enjoyable, as there a lot of thing to see and to do, (i started this project on 2013...)
Cheers

Glad to see this is still being worked on. Are you putting the "year" tags into the scenery files so that they'll show up when you turn back the clock, or are they just straight overwrites?

Hi,
i'm not sure, if i understand the question.
But the idea, is to make a BIG .zip, with the install directorys, and a little readme to explain how to install it. And, i will make "delta _zip", after that, so people not need to download all the pack again.
(for this reason i prefer to wait until at least LFLY 1966 is 100% finished).

Glad to see this is still being worked on. Are you putting the "year" tags into the scenery files so that they'll show up when you turn back the clock, or are they just straight overwrites? I understand your question, sorry for the delay:)! No, in fact, that works like that: To enjoy RA1960 on Prepar3D V4. Vintage Scenerys must be activated, and Modern (Custom) scenerys for same places (if exist), must be desactivated. (I develope the whole pack, with all the packs "ORBX Global" installed (OpenLC Europe, Vector, Global textures), so normally most of scenery will work ok even if these 3 are activated (under my scenery, RA1960 files). (i will talk about that in readme.txt) The easy way to enjoy, Vintage Scenerys on (FSX/P3D) are for me: SIMSTARTER NG I use Simstarter NG (wonderfull product, not expensive, and there exist (i think) even a freeware version with less things), that allow people activate and desactivate, quickly scenerys, aircrafts, configs, etcetera. It's really a great product, for "vintage flyers", and even for modern flyers that must mix SSD and standard HD, (i means, a installation distributed in both disks). Other things, i will probably publish the whole pack here, before i expected... (as photoreal backdated ground, (the part that is the more heavy to download), not will change a lot from now, it's almost stabilized. I must do still a lot of work in AGN (annotator), to 100% finish all the autogen for photoreal ground, but for most important areas, work is already done, or will be done, before i publish the link here. The autogen for the whole area, is so huge as work, that will be probably never be finished-finished. so as i wrote more high in the thread, i prefer to release the zip of the "Beta Version", to allow interested people, enjoy the scenery, without wait a final version that will probably never happens.... I will make a big .ZIP that i will put in my google drive, with install instructions, and i will publish link here... (probably before end of the year). After that, i will put others links later, with the "patchs/updates"... (mostly for airports and landmarks, PS: Apologies, to start to talk about my projects, when they are at 10%, because several years happens before, people can enjoy a scenery that i annonced, and i understand, that is a little frustrating (that happens to me, when i wait for aircrafts or sceneries that was annonced, with wonderfull "wip" pictures, and was abandoned.. My last to error, was RA1960 for P3D4, and RDP_II for FS91 (even if RDP_II, it's progressing a lot, and will be released this year) By now, for all my future projects, i will say "anything", here, until they are at 90% done, to avoid create expectation... Thanks for your understanding

On my P3D4 I use ORBXGLOBAL, ORBX TREE HD, FTX OPENLC EUROPE, and ORBX VECTOR so, not need to desactivate it (just look in FTXCENTRAL that scenerys are under RA1960)

First, thanks for your work.
I'll be honest - there's been so many threads and posts on the Lyons projects I've lost track.
The reality, amigo, is that we could probably count on one pair of hands how many Calclassic regulars here fly on either FSX or P3D, as most are hard-core FS9ers. And the few of us here who have adopted P3D, are I believe fairly recent converts to P3D, and we're still trying to figure out a bunch of other issues. For my part, I came aboard to P3D a mere few weeks ago, and I haven't yet sorted out my favourite sceneries from FSX (which were themselves ported from FS9), never mind do much testing of new stuff.
You have to remember many, including myself, held off for years on adopting FSX because we were so attached to our FS Golden or Silver Wings environments in FS9. Any many folks are very sceptical of moving forward for fear of losing the ported/FSX stuff. Whether we should embrace the new sims and plow forward is a philosophical decision that each must make for themselves. But the hard reality is the "Classic Airliner" offering for the 64 bit ecosystem is a very new idea, inasmuch as it was not heavily done for FSX either, apart from a few rare FSX native sceneries and roughly a dozen or so serious/quality FSX native airliners, whether prop or early jet. So we should expect it's an even newer proposition in P3D. Should it be a bigger crowd? I think so. Will it be? That depends on how enthusiastically and open-handedly mods and projects are presented.
So I'll happily install it and try it, and give feedback. I liked your FS9 Nice though I found it heavy on frames in FSX, again, likely because I was running it on the "wrong" sim. I have an open mind, and I'm sure, will really like it when I try it. As with the work Tom has done for P3D, I am humbled and grateful that they accomodate the newer sim(s), and hope that others will join.
I hope that's a fair and balanced perspective to give - and again, thanks for your great work.
If you prefer, we can correspond via pm via further details.
Best regards,
dl

Just a quick note to say I've installed the WIP package for LFLY/LFLE and environs - it's truly awesome, even in it's unfinished state. I want to say a huge thanks for letting me preview this, and encourage any P3D ers to check out the package by contacting Alejandro.
I look forward to this one's further development, and any others he takes on.
Cheers,
Daniel

Alejandro, when I get to P3D I will be so happy you have made all this. It won't be within a few years though, I think. But a very big thank you in advance for not only creating and sharing your impressive projects, but possibly even setting standards for a classic P3D world.

Hi, thanks for your comments and your interest.
Maybe if i developed RA1960 for FSX and not for P3D4, more people here will be interested. But the true, is that i not use FSX, i use FS91 and P3D4, and it's a big task (for size of scenery), to mantain one version for FSX and another for P3D4. (i can't ever see if works or not, because i not have FSX on my computer anymore).
So i still develope scenerys for the two simulators i use (FS91 and P3D4).
In the future, probably there will be more P3D4 users interested to have P3D4 vintage scenerys, at that time, even if Lyon and Grenoble, and all this area, is not the more "sexy" area of the world. I think, users will enjoy, because is a nice place..., of course, for people know this region in France, is more interesting, so they can see the difference with actual Lyon, actual Grenoble, and the differences in the airports (this is more easy, because modern version of each airport exist for FSX/P3D).
If someone are interested to test/convert RA1960, to FSX, please send me a personal message, and i send download .zip and try to do conversion.
I'm not sure, what works and what not works exactly if we install RA1960 in FSX, maybe is more "fsx compatible" thank i think.
Normally with photoreal ground, there not be any problem, librarys and afcads, i not remember what works and what not works.
I not made (yet), things that are only available on P3D4 SDK, in the scenery (i am talking about dynamic lighting, PBR textures), but i will surely do in a future (is the idea). I know also, that compiling in true P3D4 format, is a bit better on performance, that when we use FSX format on P3D4.
Cheers
