Well, it's good news and bad news. First the good news. My Opthamologist says I can resume flight simulation on a full time basis. The bad news is that he misdiagnosed my problem on the first go around. He had told me after the cataract surgery that I was developing Age Related Macular Degeneration. This was in error. He ran a ton of tests yesterday and informed me that the surgery and placement of the new lens had masked the underlying cause of my blurred vision. I am in the beginning stages of Glaucoma which he says will develope slowly over the next 15 to 20 years. At age 86, he says I will have a good deal of time to fly and that by the time I reach 100 or so, I'll be too shakey to fly anyway ;D So it;s back to the cockpit for me.

Finally some good news in all this bad news one has to read. Glad to hear the doc got it wrong ... and the diagnosis is much less grave than you had thought.
Looking forward to reading many more of your wonderful insights Jesse

Hi, Jesse, that's GREAT NEWS! Why don't we celebrate~! At 19:00 GMT, we'll (me, Tom G, Ricard, Edd and Glenn [if available]) will be getting together for a flight at www.FSVintageAir.com . Please at least drop by and say, "Hello" ok? There's a great gang of flyers over there..of ALL ages. I think you'd enjoy it. Kenny has his own TeamSpeak server to go with the 2 mulitplayer servers, too. All the instructions and info is very well layed out at the website. Yours,

Thanks, Randy. I'll check in a bit later. Right now I am in the process of rebuilding my computer. Had a major crash a couple of days ago and I have not yet reinstalled flight sim.
