Hi all, In planning my flights around the USA, I like to know which airports have been backdated to the classic era. But the typical listing of airports on the current web pages makes this difficult to see quickly. So I made up a map of the USA with the backdated airports displayed on it. This makes it easy to see the backdated airports available when traveling from point A to point B. Note that a few small airports are not shown in areas where there it is very crowded (mostly CA, TX, IL, and PA). It's linked at the top of my Scenery page for quick access. Here is the link in case you want to check it out. Right click the link and choose Save to save it on your computer. www.calclassic.com/Images/Airports_US_Map.jpgHope this helps,

I have the luxury of a wall behind my computer setup where I have mounted a 3 x 5 foot U.S. map. Have MOST of the classic airports marked w/ pushpins. Going to print yours Tom as it is marked w/ airport IDs. I like that a lot.
Thanks for this,
Mike

Thanks Tom, It's great to see all the airports available. I've got to start going to some new destinations. Thanks to everyone who had a hand in creating all these great airports.

Somebody did this a while back with Google Earth. I have the file called CalClassic Airports.kmz. I don't remember how long ago this was created or where I got it, but I just reloaded it into Google Earth and it has a lot of the airports through out the world though it missing some of the newer releases. Wish I had and idea of how this was created. It would be nice to see every airport in the Calclassic world displayed.
Thanks Tom for reminding me about this file while looking at what you created

I realize that some people might need to have another map handy to find out the names of the states - I thought about adding those, but it would have made the map too crowded. As it was, I was able to name all but two of the states pretty quickly - geography has always been an interest of mine. I swapped Vermont and New Hampshire; I won't make that mistake again.
