Hi,
If you are using DC-6A textures on the DC-6B make sure you have the following files (copied from a DC-6B) pasted into the livery folders:
Interior.bmp Interior_L.bmp Stairs_t.bmp Stairs_L.bmp
Hope this helps,

Thanks Tom. Not sure which exterior model to use as there are several including props_slow and props_blurred. Should we just use the plain "1649_31.mdl"?

Hey! The new model (1649_31.mdl) solved my problem - thanks very much Tom.

I believe you use that, the interior model, and the model.cfg file. The prop mdl files were for the OP.
I've also included a new glass.bmp file for the cockpit windows, and an Environment file which can be placed into each livery's texture folder. It works better for me than the default one.

Hi Tom, I've just re-installed the L-1649 into FSX:SE. Every thing is good apart from one minor issue, the rudder pedal input causes the rudders to move in the opposite direction. The nose wheel turns in the correct direction though. Would you check to confirm it please? Many thanks for upgrading these classic prop liners. Pete.

Any chance of a DC-7C or L 749 conversion?

Hi,
I’ve fixed the reversed rudders and uploaded it. Same link. It was made easier by the new Reverse Animation feature in ModelConverterX.
As for new conversions, I might do some more but I have no idea when. My tutorial shows how to do it - I’m surprised more people haven’t done them themselves.

Hi, Since there is an FSX/P3D payware DC-6B out there, I didn’t know how much interest there would be for a converted version of Greg Pepper’s plane. If there is further interest posted in this thread I could consider it.

Hi, Since there is an FSX/P3D payware DC-6B out there, I didn’t know how much interest there would be for a converted version of Greg Pepper’s plane. If there is further interest posted in this thread I could consider it. I’m a simple man. I see radial engines with large spinners and I can’t help myself.... . 3 out my 4 favourite classic airlines (CPA, PAA, Swissair) flew the big spinner 6B. I flogged Frank’s repaints of those extensively in FS9, FSX, and would love to again if I could in P3D. As to whether I’d find a way to stick Kim’s awesome Cathay paints on the big spinner 6B to round out the fourth, I’ll leave that to your imagination. Yeah, it’s not quite historically accurate, and the purists will think it a crime. But never underestimate a crazed man committing a crime of passion... :-0 Joking aside, know that it’d be very much enjoyed. Thanks for all you’ve done. DL Ps - I never saw a thread for this, but your P3D specific core libraries and AI packs from flightsim.com are superb. My P3D skies has been rid of fake airlines 737 Max and Airbus content for good. Nothing but good old 1962 vintage good stuff from Uncle Tom and company for me.... :-).
