P3Dv4.5 I seem to have windscreen glass in Tom's model. More of a grey or brown color than blue/green.

Just download the package again, it contains the updated MDL files. Thanks Tom - I hadn't noticed that when the thread went to a second page, you had posted about the latest model. Dropped it into the sim, and it looks much better. Thanks for this! dl

I have been doing some thinking and reading, and feel I have come up with a better glass recipe for these Connies. I have updated the MDL files again and now there is no gray/green mottling, just green glass. Same link.
BTW, if you are interested in that glass material recipe, I have added it to my Conversion Tutorial.
Enjoy,

Hi Tom, as per the DC-6B, I took a break from my unending motorcycle restoration to have a quick look. Fantastic. No issues at all on the window glass from the outside looking in. Not sure if there's a way to create a subtle glass effect from the inside looking out, as opposed to the "windowless" effect that is the case now. I think it was this way from the start, so I can't imagine it being possible to retrofit that at this point. And of course, the sun visors are fully opaque. But we're talking the tiniest of nits at this point. Crazy to think how good this model looks after all these years, and with now, having received what will be doubtlessly a multi-year service life extension ... This plane will soon have been on my hard drive for as many years at it flew in real life ... Daniel

Hi, I have updated the L-749 VC with a transparent sun shade. Same link. Hope this helps, Hi Tom, Replaced the mdl. No tint, graduated or otherwise per se, but fully transparent. Was that the intention? Not complaining, just curious. Had a nice 30 min flight around Cape Canaveral in the 121 model checking out how Bernie’s great 60s era NASA addon looked in P3D. Plane looks and flies like a dream. Thx! PS-hi Thomas, thx for the question. Sorry to disappoint-it’s not a classic old BMW, Triumph or BSA. It’s a Husaberg adventure/dual sport.

It appears you may have a different shade.bmp file than the default? If the alpha channel is darker, it will become fully transparent. I have started working on that for blurred prop textures, but I didn't realize anyone had created a replacement shade texture so I didn't bother. I'll fix that soon.

Yes - thanks Tom! New model glass looking really good now - thanks Tom! Lee, glad you piped up, because I wanted to see if on your setup (sim-wise, I think identical to mine), you can see the sunshades in Tom's latest interior model update. I still see it as fully transparent, with the outline of the shade coming into view when it cycles up and down. What do you see? Based on that, I'll see what's wrong on my end before asking Tom to do anything more. I only have two texture sets installed, the TWA and the C-121 (which is wrong for this model, but you already know why). I get the above results in both, specifically the TWA. Maybe let me know what repaint you're using if you're getting correct results (presumably Eastern?) and I'll copy that shade texture file and put it in mine. FWOW, I'm using the same shade texture throughout the models, but I'm not sure what else it could be. thanks, dl

I just tested it in P3D and it is indeed mostly transparent - it looks fine in FSX. I cannot create all models that will look perfect in both sims, sorry - they react differently to a given texture. I do most of my testing in FSX so I will favor that sim. The shade texture will need to be modified for P3D. As an example, here is a shade texture that works in P3D. I lightened the alpha channel from 63,63,63 to 95,95,95. www.calclassic.com/Temp/P3D_shade_01.zipHope this helps,
