Of the 11 such airframes on this list I checked the last 6 and they have all been in storage for quite some time. Additionally, the DC-4 / C-54 is not in this list anymore so I suppose Buffalo have decided to withdraw the type from their operation altogether. When I had the privilege of visiting them five years ago, there were already just two C-54s being prepared as water bombers for the upcoming season, I think. I just missed the ferry flight of one of them from Hay River to Yellowknife! Erik

oh ok...what are they replacing the dc-4 with then, and are they removing the current ones?
my guess is electra for the dc-4

My impression is, this has actually already materialised, as DC-4 ops have been very sparse if any for years, AFAIK. The Electras seem to be doing well, both as freighters and airtankers for firefighting. Buffalo have developed a lot of the tech stuff for the latter operation themselves.
