Well that makes three of us that never heard of a Boeing 735. So that was never even made into a prototype apparently. But we have the no inventory, just in time delivery that released all that capital and the result is that you can't buy toilet paper now. My how times have changed.

Hi again,
seems that Convair also planned to create a swingtail freighter from the CV-990. ( see video below ) In my opinion, it could be quite possible, that these aircraft were the rivals to the Lockheed proposal ( Model 300 aka C-141 ) to the 1960 Specific Operational Requirement 182, calling for a new aircraft that would be capable of performing both strategic and tactical airlift missions within MATS.

looks like the jet conterparts of the turboprop Canadair CL-44 ... which finally remained in active cargo service for several years.
