Hello all,
Hope everyone is keeping well during these pressing times.
1 things
1. some of my prop traffic like your dc-3 and dc-4 etc, fly straight but wings go from left to right all the time and same with a landing. i have a video of it if needed but cannot attached as file is too big. 2. when i was at Heathrow - EGLL the fps was very low is there anyway to get that a bit?
Kindest regards
Jovic

Hi,
1. I'm not sure what can be done about that, sorry. 2. Try lowering the Options/Settings/Traffic slider to reduce the number of planes at Heathrow.

He probably means horizontal swaying. That might occur while using flyable models as AI with unsuitable aircraft.cfg. But as I unterstand, he let fly AI Cal Classic planes. I always track a lot of them and up to now didn't noticed any strange beaviour.

Hello
I don’t have them as flyable at all. Any way for me to get this changed or stopped ?
Kind regards

Jovic, I cannot think of a reason either. Actually, if you had flyable aircraft assigned as AI that would explain both the swinging and the frame rates. - What Windows version is this and what kind of processor in the computer? - You confirm you are using the CC AI Traffic from Tom's site: www.calclassic.com/AIAircraft.htm ? - Did it help the frame rates to lower the traffic amount at Heathrow? - Do you have the frame rate problem at other busy airports? - Do you have the swinging problem with the aircraft at other places? Perhaps we can spot the problem. Erik

You don't say, but if you are in FSX like I am, EGLL can indeed be jerky through low frame rates at a level I haven't seen at any other airport. I didn't have that in FS9.
I did find reducing the frame rate to 35 made a significant improvement and my last landing there included a very smooth taxi in.
I have read that FS9 aircraft flown in FSX can cause this, but that last arrival was in a completely unmodified FS9 aircraft actually. Much must depend on individual cirumstances.

Good point John, what FS version are we talking about. :-)

Some of the AI aircraft exhibit “tail wagging” behavior while taxiing, but I don’t know what causes that.

If by "wings going left to right" you mean the left wing drops, then the right wing drops ad nauseum, I had the same problem using several flyable aircraft when I first began creating AI traffic files for FS2004. My quick fix was to copy the .air file from an AI aircraft that behaves normally into the folder of the errant aircraft then change the sim=lines in the aircraft.cfg file to the name of the replacement .air file. The CC team used this method with their AI traffic files - many of the CC AI aircraft have "sim=Boeing737-400" which counters this problem.
This might affect the performance of the flyable aircraft, so my complete fix has been to make a copy of the flyable aircraft I want to use as an AI aircraft e.g. the FSDS HS748, rename the copy (e.g.) "AI HS748" and only change the sim= lines in the aircraft.cfg file in the copy, thus preserving the flyable aircraft in its original state.

Some of the AI aircraft exhibit “tail wagging” behavior while taxiing, but I don’t know what causes that. Is this not caused by the aircraft following the blue "normal" nodes in the AF2 file? Unless the spaces between the nodes was reduced to a few inches (hardly practical) I can't see a way around it either.

Yes, it is caused by passing a node. But some seem to do it more than others...

Hi,
I'm not a member of Facebook and cannot see your replies - nothing happens when I click on the Reply line.
I just checked the DC-3 and it is flying straight for me.
