Used to watch these taking off at LGW as a lad, only planes that almost retracted their gear to get airborne !

Former BOAC DC-7C. Other users were Schreiner, Autair, and reduced to spares by Aer Turas 1974.

A tip: you can always tell a DC-7C by the props with rounded tips. Also there are usually 3 windows ahead of the props.
