Regarding the uninstalls, I've done a few different methods: Ran the uninstaller from disc 1, deleted the FS9 file directly from the C drive file, and also uninstalled from Control Panel/ Programs and Files. As the battery has been shot for quite sometime, I'm tethered to the AC plug. The power supply issue brings up another question. That is whether it's worthwhile to put money into an 8 year old laptop at all. I feel I'd be better off saving to invest in a new Windows 10 desktop. Just means using FS2002 til that happens.
Thanks, Mike

A computer techy once told me that a deteriorated battery also can influence plugged-in performance. I agree with you on the investment part obviously, though. If anything, should hardware be the problem that at least could give you some sort of peace of mind perhaps, after all you've tried!
Hopefully times change for the better soon and you will get to your new desktop and enjoy it.

I suppose the battery suggestion could also explain the sluggish performance the computer has always been plagued with. The battery died shortly after I bought it. ($50 bucks). So while we're here, you read that I've been relegated to using FS2002 in the interim. The other day I was tweaking the lights of the Boeing 777 and accidently deleted the entire lights section of the aircraft CFG. I tried to find it on the #1 disc where the aircraft are located but the CFGs are not with those files. Anyone know where they're located ?
Thanks Mike
