Hi all, Just to let you know that I've released the version 2.1 of Chicago Midway airport, as updated by Al Von Pingel. He's done a great job of improving this important airport - thanks! www.calclassic.com/Images/kmdw59.jpgIt's on my Scenery page. Thanks again,

Lookin REAL good, though that's not surprising considering the source.
Thank you, Mike

Been a lot of scenery development lately. Good to see. Anyone out there have any surprises in the works ? Always been my wish to learn how to do scenery. Top of my list has always, always been KPIT, followed closely by northern West Virginia. Specifically Wheeling, Morgantown, and Clarksburg as I frequently flew into these airports when I was a kid. Portland ME would be another one high on the list.

Hi,
Al Courtney was working on Pittsburgh, but he suddenly disappeared a few years back. I haven't heard of any plans for the other airports.

I have plans to eventually come back and cover a lot of Northeast US airports once I finish some ongoing current work. A lot of great airports missing. If there's no further news on Pittsburgh I'll pick it up and add it to that collection once I get there Chris

Over a year ago Tom mentioned in a thread that he would like to have Pittsburgh done. No one chimed in on that thread so I decided that I would stop working on the other three airports that I had under construction and create Pittsburgh. Since I have never finished or released an airport I decided that I would keep mum about it until I was well on the way. So now since we are discussing KPIT I thought I should speak up and show some pictures of what has been done. Overhead View View of Terminal View of the Capital Airlines maintenance hangars View of the PANG 146th and 147th TFS hangars View of the PANG 140th Aeromedical Squadron hangars There is still a long way to go with a lot work to be done but I'm slowly completing it. I estimate that I will be over a year completing it from this point. I don't have as much time as I would like to work on it and I tend to be very precise about every part of the project. One more thing. I have not received any permissions at this point for the use of flyable model aircraft that I converted into scenery objects. I was intending to ask when the airport was nearer to completion. Hopefully the model creators will give permission when asked. If not then any model without permission would not appear. Ed

Ooooo ! Looking like my dream may come true. That terminal was absolutely beautiful both inside and out. Spent many hours there in the 50s and 60s. Back then kids were safe alone in public and while my mom sat in the waiting area, I would roam the halls by myself, feeling all grown up to be on my own at the age of 7 or 8, or so. I recall that down at the end of the west wing there was an arcade. Pretty much where I learned to play pinball. From KPIT we were headed either East on a TWA Connie to LGA, or a Lake Central DC-3 south to Wheeling or Clarksburg.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. If anyone has any photos that could be helpful I would appreciate getting a copy. JWH has quite a collection out on his Flickr page and I have been using them quite a bit to help add detail especially the terminal building.
