After significant input from Bill (Defender) we are about to release an update to this scenery. Historical research subsequent to the original release has improved period accuracy and Dan French has replicated the MATS terminal building which was not featured in it. The period navaids have also been improved and an NDB represents the Range Station which allowed lining up on Runway 34 (not necessary for those who have the Radio Range 4 Add On, of course). The performace of the Traffic Files has also been re-worked and the installation instructions clarified, especially on the downloading of ai aircraft. There are separate instructions for those installing from scratch and those simply updating. There will be no further updates. The new (old) MATS terminal, made by Dan French. The Canadian Base Approach to Runway 34. The rmi needle shows that the Range Station has just been overflown.
Trans Canada Super Constellation at Goose Bay, 1959. Goose was a lot more than just a military air base.
And here is a short video trailer. Goose looks terrific in mid-winter: youtu.be/Noof1HCUDDk

Indeed an awsome scenery! Thanks Ken. I was wondering how it looks like with 1955 traffic: At least very interesting with unexpected aircraft! Bernard

Thank you, Bernard, and everybody else. I use Tom's 1955 Traffic and those are the B-36s you are looking at, featured in the 1955 Traffic in this scenery.

And another image. The Greg Pepper B-377 in the fine paint of BOAC RMA Caledonia by Dave McQueen. Parked, correctly in the new scenery, on the Canadian side of the base. In civilian terms Goose was something like as significant as Gander in acting as a refuelling point for westbound aircraft. Bill points out to me that on London to New York, routing via Goose was only 76nm further on a great circle compared to using Gander, and just 44nm further starting from Prestwick; and, furthermore, that reduced headwind would quickly compensate for that. That is no doubt why BOAC routed via Prestwick as well as Shannon.

Great screenshot. The Stratocruiser looked so good in the BOAC livery.

I agree, John, and the model and paint capture its magnificence. Here is one of Al's screen captures. The civilian aircraft of US carriers parked near the MATS terminal, the rest at the Canadian base. The file is now available for download at the link below on Flightsim, where it is been featured on their front page as one of the two Files of the Day. Merry Yule to you all.

And make SURE you read the installation text file, this is not a normal install.
One error in the Flight Ontario text file - the folder/layer is called CYYR_Goose Bay, not just Goose Bay.

I have a Beaver, Twin Otter, CF-101 and three LYNX FA-18s coming from scenery/world/scenery/traffic_cyyr.bgl. I assume I should remove that? And I can remove all the AI aircraft folders in the FS2004/Aircraft folder that were created today, and not installed by me? I.e. by Flight Ontario.

Yes, do not install the traffic files from the original Flight Ontario installation. Forgot to mention that in our instructions. If you did remove it.
