Guys, Im testing Manfreds great super connie and a couple of my textures for the same. What are some of the longer range routes that this aircraft would have been used for?
Specifically, is it realistic to fly an Eastern Airlines 1049G from SFO to ATL? (etc.)
Thanks Eric

Hi,
No, Eastern didn't fly west of St. Louis or Houston (domestically) at that time. Their longest route was probably something like NYC to Miami or NYC-San Juan (if you count Puerto Rico as being domestic). The other choice might have been NYC-Houston. Their longest route period was NYC-Mexico City.
Eastern didn't get routes to the West Coast until much later (the early 70's?).
When the 1049G's were new, the longest domestic routes were probably TWA's NYC to SFO and LAX runs.
Hope this helps,

Eastern also flew non-stop from Miami to Cleveland and Miami to Chicago.
As a kid, every summer my family flew Eastern Airlines Super Connies from Miami to Chicago or Cleveland, with connecting DC-3 feeder-flights to smaller cities, to visit our relatives. No wonder that my favorite airliners are Connies and DC-3s. ;D
