FS9 bridges are an extremely tiring story. They either are placed incorrectly, unsuitable with classic era or missing entirely. Some weeks ago there where here several posts about removing the bridge near Kindley Airfield. While installing this new scenery, I got the default bridge back and couldn't delete it anymore.
Anyway, up to now I could remove several other bridges like Verrazzano-Narrows, Rikers Island and Whitestone in New York area as well as the Ponte 25 de Abril over the Tajo at Lisbon.
And meanwile I replaced the default Mackinac Bridge between the Lakes Huron and Michigan. Particular interesting and significant is the fact that it remains the longest twin tower suspension bridge between anchorages in the Western Hemisphere. Al Haline created this bridge for FS9 almost twenty years ago.
The bridge also fits with the 'Mackinac Island' scenery of the same author. One of the main attractions there is the Victorian Grand Hotel. Constructed in the late 19th century, the facility advertises itself as having the world's largest porch.
The hotel on the left, Fort Mackinac on the right and the ferry docks in the middle with an AI ferry crossing between Mackinac Island and St. Ignace.
Mackinac Island does not permit motor vehicles. It's only recheable either by ferry, airplane or snowmobile over the ice bridge in winter. Transport to and from the ferry dock to the hotel is assured by horse-drawn carriage. The island has a small airport (no fuel or services) for private aircraft. The horse-drawn taxis will also take guests from the airport to the hotel or any other destination.
