Recently I found this 'Texaco' repaint for default DC-3. But I wasn't able to found out where this was on duty. Nevertheless, I let it flying to the Colombian oil fields at El Centro, near Barrancabermeja. A couple of 'Texaco' repaints have been created for vintage aircraft. In contradiction with the DC-3 above, I didn't got pictured proofs that most of these aircraft have ever flew 'Texaco' marked. Anyway, I assembled them just for fun. Shown are a Waco, a Ford Tri-Motor, a Granville Brothers Gee Bee C8, three Lockheed Vega 5B, a Flamingo, a Curtiss Robin and a Stearman 4E. Bernard

Most large oil companies had private planes. Aramco even had DC-6Bs to fly employees to various locations, mostly from Europe to the Middle East.

Did not even know that Texaco had planes!!!! Why didn't they think of fuel tanker planes?? My guess is that in the 1930's the owners rather were sponsored, and the planes did good publicity at air shows. Bernard

A nicely presented collection of Texaco liveries Bernard. I like the scenery as well. I went through my hangar and found three more to add to the collection. I have not had a chance to research them and do not know if any of them actually existed. It is surprising how many Texaco liveries were done and there may be more.

Nice shots, Bernard!
Don't forget Paul Clawson's Northrop "Gamma" with the separated, "flying" ailerons. That'll be the next challenge to update once I can get back into things.

Glad to still see some interest in vintage flying. @jorge: effectively, I forgot the nice Northrop 'Gamma'. Thnaks to remind me. al: nice shots too. I wasn't aware of a 'Texaco' repainted Spartan. Found it at SOH and will complete the 'fleet'. BTW, where did you made the shots? I guess they are shown at one of the several GW airfields. Ford-Tri-Motor Home includes also a 'Texaco' livery for the Boeing 221A Monomail: Bernard

Larry, thanks for your information. I suppose that's a personal creation. AFAIK there is no such scenery in some GW packages.
