I would like to let fly some AI without any lights. Therefore I thought to delete the whole lights entries in aircraft.cfg. Obvisouly I doesn't work. The tested aircraft (aidc6b) still shows all lights. What could be the solution? Thanks for any advice.

Meanwhile I have to rectifiy. Landing lights and strobes are out. That's a good thing. The cabin light is certainly generated by a fuslage texture file. Eventually this could be deleted. But which one? And how is it with HQ textures?

A fine tool for this task is "AI-Aircraft Editor" by Martin Gossmann

Thanks for the tip, and I installed it. But frankly speaking I don't know how and what I should change or modify. There seems not be more file informations than I could see in aircraft.cfg and texture folder.

If editing out the lights in the lights section in the cfg file does not work, then the lights must be part of the ai aircraft's model. Deleting those lights entails modifying the model.

Just disable (or move away) all *_LM.bmps

Actually they are probably *_L textures. That should remove the lighting on the plane itself. Same with the HQ models. The nav lights are in the CFG file for most models, but a few not built by me have them in the model. The landing lights that shine on the ground are in the model. If I have a GMAX file for the plane I could compile a model without them. Otherwise not possible for FS9 models (easy for FSX and P3D models using ModelConverterX).

Thanks all for your help. Effectively I deleted the *_L.bmp textures, and it works. I soon will show what's the purpose to let them fly without any lights.
