just thought I'd check in and see how everybody is doing. Still enjoying the aircraft, tutorials, and discussion here. Hope everybody is doing good. A nice shot of the SoCal Marine Layer. This model has an excellent simulation of the Dart engines, and is charming to fly. Combined with the good handling notes and CC Notepad, a quick flight is easy to plan.

One of my favorite planes to fly in a favorite livery. I watched them fly in and out of Sacramento all the time. Glad you’re enjoying it.
Ah the May Gray. We had some of that last week, but now we are in a mini heat wave with sunny skies. Supposed to be 87° F here today! Back to the clouds on Sunday.

I flew as a passenger on a Hughes Airwest F-27 from SMX to LAX during my more "formative" years. Large windows and the wing on the top made a window seat a must! I do enjoy flying the F-27 in FS2004 and FSX as well and have flown many of the Pacific/Airwest/Hughes Airwest routes. Not a race car, that's for sure, but a pleasant and forgiving aircraft to fly.
Regards, Phil

My favorite aircraft. Rode the Pacific Airlines milk run ( SMF-MRV-CIC-RDD-ACV) many times during my College years. Sometimes the Martin 404 but usually the F-27. Ninety percent of my fs9 flights are done on the F-27. Arcata (ACV) was located at one of the foggiest locations on the west coast and was a center of research for low visibility approach aids. It’s a great place to practice your ILS skills as the IAP is at 5800 MSL to a runway at almost sea level , one of the longest ILS I’ve ever come across. Set the weather to thick fog and have at it.

I’ve made that ILS approach several times, lots of fun.

Herkpilot,
Thanks for interesting facts that I am learning now. Interesting to learn from your statement: "Arcata (ACV) was located at one of the foggiest locations on the west coast and was a center of research for low visibility approach aids. It’s a great place to practice your ILS skills"
Regards,
Aharon
