Now that my military ai project is finished I'm going to take a break for a while. Most of my summer will be taken up volunteering at the Bitter Lake NWR counting and banding birds and such.
But in my spare time I'm planning another around-the-world trip on my simulator.
A couple of years ago I spent a month flying around the modern world in an Aviat Husky. This time I want to do it in the California Classic world with proplines.
Each leg will be between California Classic airports using MAAM DC-3s, the new DC-6B VC, the new Starliner, and the Boeing Stratocruiser. Each leg will be in one of those four aircraft in a livery common to that route.
For instance, the San Francisco to Salt Lake leg will be in a MAAM DC-3 Western Airlines livery. The Hong Kong to Tokyo leg will be in a Cathay Pacific DC-6B. The Honolulu to Seattle leg will be in a Northwest Stratocruiser.
I think switching aircraft and liveries for each leg will add some variety to the flight. What do you think?

I am not new myself to around the world tours, recently online as well ( with others of my my VA recently concluded a Anchorage to Ushuaia multi leg trip that took us through all the American continent, online on IVAO), having completed at least three since FS98, and so many others remained woefully incomplete. I was thinking to do another world trip, but was waiting for the release of the L-749A, so to make a Constellation 'round the world trip. And while waiting for the L-749A, the crazy people of my VA is trying to convince me to participate in an online recreation/revival of the first Roma-Tokyo tour made by A. Ferrarin under X-plane 9 and IVAO... tour I will probably end up participating to. ;D

I agree, varying the aircraft (plus all the new airports available now) should give you plenty of variety.
