Hey everyone. I've read "The Flying Springbok," a while ago, which has some nice tales of flying the African continent during flying's early and golden days. One thing that caught my attention was the lengthy stopovers and distance planes had to endure, and I would like some recommendations for BOAC's own endeavors during that period. Planes like the Handley Page Hermes that are largely forgotten I would like to hear about, but any book about BOAC in Africa during those early Elizabethan years would be fine!

I would suggest that you try searching here. The contributors often are, or have been, professional pilots and frequently have very interesting things to say. There is a thread on the Hermes. www.pprune.org/trending.php
