Hi all,
Just a note to say that since Hurricane Hilary is taking aim on San Diego, there is a slight possibility that I may be out of touch for up to several days. Currently it is expected to make landfall directly over San Diego as a tropical storm on Sunday evening, with inches of rain and some wind. If it does not weaken as expected it could hit has a category 1 hurricane though.
I do not live in an area prone to flooding so that should not be a problem for me, and any real wind damage is unlikely. So the major issue right now would be the loss of power, possibly for an extended period. I do not have a smartphone, so that would mean no internet for me. So don’t be surprised if you don’t hear from me for a little while.
I’m sure that this will not happen and all will be fine, but it never hurts to be prepared. 😎
Tom

Stay safe, Tom, and may everything go well! I think we're the, "last of the few," who don't use smart phones! Jorge Miami, FL

Be safe. Do not worry. Your Lockheed L188 Electras in your CalClassics download center are hurricane proof considering the fact some of them became hurricane hunters.

I haven't a smartphone too. It seems we can establish the whole Smartphone-less Club here. I suggest Tom as chairman, of course.
Stay safe, Tom!

Batten down the hatches and lash yourself to the mast! Stay safe and we'll see you on the other side of this storm.

Hi all,
Well, I’m still here. No power loss, only 1 inch of soft rain, and very little wind. In fact this was one of our quieter storms! A nice (and rare) midsummer watering of the garden.
Turns out the storm split when it hit the Baja coast. One branch turned inland and hit the desert around Palm Springs. The other branch turned west, passed San Diego still offshore, and hit LA and west of there. Both areas got over 4” of rain with flooding in many areas.
Thanks for all the good wishes,

Thats great to hear! glad you made it through with minimal trouble...sounds like last winter here in Washington/Oregon...Supposed to have a big old snowstorm hammer us...Portland had almost a foot of snow, all we got in Longview was a dusting...I was sad.

Thanks for keeping us posted Tom, and glad you and those around you got off without problems. Thoughts go to those who did not of course, gravely so at several locations around the world...
