Anyone still use EVP for FS2004? Mine has decided it won’t run any more, although it was fine a week ago when I created a new callsign. Have redownloaded it, tried running it in administrator mode with no result.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Gave it a try just now and it still runs. I did not actually update my voicepack but I can select, play and modify the various entries. This is on Win10 Pro version 22H2. I do have a number of old system add-ons that were required by various FS utils to work or even install, so that could make a difference. Think of .NET, C++ stuff and/or the likes (can't remember which specifically).
Erik
Edit, P.S.: I run it through a shortcut and not even in compatibility mode.

What OS are you running?
Is there any error message?

Windows 10, same as I've used since I began using EVP 6-7 years ago. EVP is pinned to the taskbar and is set up to run in administrator mode. If I go to the Bevelstone folder to run it from the .exe file there I get the same result with nothing happening. No error message, just no reaction. EVP XL for FSX seems unaffected. Rather strange. Not to mention frustrating! I've tried posting on the EVP forum but don't hold out much hope of a reply as support for the FS2004 version was discontinued a while back. I have a slight suspicion that it could be something to do with AVG. I have their internet security, driver updater and tune up package installed. Tune up shows EVP in its list of "unnecessary programs" and "last run" 2 days ago although the "EditVoicepackData" xml file was last updated on 25th August which would have been the last time I added anything. 2 days ago was when I redownloaded it having found it not working.

Definitely worth trying to simply go off-line (pull cable/switch off wifi), deactivate all antivirus and see if that makes a difference. Perhaps you can even retrieve a last updated-date for AVG and see if that matches the start of the EVP problem.

Thanks Erik. Tried all that with no effect. Have also tried reinstalling EVP in its own folder on my D drive rather than the default C:\Program Files86 location but that made no difference. AVG internet security updates are most days so linking that to the EVP problem isn't possible. A virus scan found nothing. There is another recent problem which is with AIFP. This I have started another thread for.

Oh that's too bad. The only other thing I can think of is the .NET Framework 1.1. Do you (still) have that on your system? The EditVoicepack User's Guide mentions 'Please notice that newer versions of the .NET Framework might not be able to run EditVoicepack'. I installed it when I configured this Win10 system and still have the necessary files and instructions. It's a bit of work but doable just going throught the steps. On my system it still works though, so not sure if the problem may be with this at all on your side.
