Hello flightsimmers, I started having this warning message pop up upon launching FS2004 about something to do with FSSound.dll. Probably because I installed something and it overwrote my original FSSound.dll. I have downloaded a few FSSound.dll files from Avsim and Flightsim but they all give the same warning upon launching FS2004. Can someone pls point me to a location where I can download a good FSSound.dll ? Thank you in advance. Cheers

Try this.
Locate your FS9 cfg. open with notepad. Insert the following at the bottom of the file:
[OLDMODULES] FSSound.dll=1
SHOULD do the trick.

Hi Mike, thank you for the feedback. I searched for fs9.cfg and fs2004.cfg and I don't have either. Would that be the problem ? Thank you.

It can be found here:
C:\users\name\App data\roaming\microsoft\FS9(orFS2004)
Hope it helps,
Mike

I believe between Users and AppData is your user name. If you still can’t find it there you may need to allow windows to display hidden files and folders, in the My Computer options.

Thanks Tom. I did notice the omission of the name and have since corrected it.

Thank you gentlemen. It was my mistake initially because I only looked inside the FS2004 folder for the fs9.cfg file. A full search of the C: drive found it. I've tested it and I no longer get the FSSound.dll pop-up warning after adding the 2 lines to it. Thank you.

I'm using a desktop search engine called 'everything' from www.voidtools.comIt's very quick & finds what you are searching for as you are typing.

Glad you "got r done".
Now,to be really cool, put a shortcut on the desktop so you can get to it quickly in the future.
Cheers, Mike
