Ok, Im stumped. I have downloaded the package for the 1049 from avsim today and FS.com at least twice. I'm doing something stupid Im sure but I cannot get this bird to show up in FS at the moment.
I am NOT A NEWB when it comes to this stuff. I'm guessing Im doing something really wrong with models or aircraft files but my problem stems from several areas.
First, the texture folders that are in the download do not jibe with the config file. The config file seems to have different model refs from the models I have in the model folders and the texture lines do not match the titles for the texture folders
When i unzip there is no 1049G folder, just a rash of folders with guages, effects, LOCKHEED,sounds etc. I know how to put this stuff together but something is just wrong with what Im seeing, any help would be appreciated so i can try this bird out.
I'm pulling my hair out.
Thanks.

OK DISREGARD!!! What a dumbass I am. I somehow was managing to use a very old version of winzip instead of the newer one Ive always used. I dont even know how that happened but its fixed now. That was the problem. Made the folders names different than using the newer version of the program. All is well now.
Sorry.

Fine
Just one remark
In order to keep file size down and easy install (apart elderly winzips) it is one folder with 4 models. This is fine for the normal users(99,42%) but if you want to be very accurate you need to make 4 aircraft folders each model one with correct model and correct aircraft.cfg(+ the according textures, get many over the time now)
sound and panel you can link to the first folder.with this setup you will get the correct light especially landing lights and wingtip nav lights

Interesting point, Roland. I was toying with the idea yesterday and haven't decided WHEN I'll go it. No time like the present, I suppose. Especially before I have a gazillion repaints. ;D
I have really loved flying this Connie. Truly a work of art. Thanks to everyone who contributed.

Hi,
yes, I did that myself a couple of days ago. However,if you want to keep your file folder clean, you may copy the aircraft.cfg file from the respective model folder into the main folder. Justr a few keystrokes, and you're set. Don't move the file, though - sooner or later you'll overwrite it and you have to pick it from the original install fille.
Best regards, Volker
