I have actually 3 different installations of FS9. There's FS9, the CC install, FSM, the modern day install, with jet aircraft and modern scenery, and FSSW, a Silver Wings install with CC addons but with an overall different "look". Schockwave lights are installed in the FS9 version and work great. Tried today to install into FSSW and am having trouble. It seems I can't direct it to FSSW. Getting a message that it can't find the "FS2004" file. Tried moving the file itself from FS9 to FSSW but it's not working that way. Tried renaming FS9 to FS9back and then naming FSSW to FS9 and it wouldn't install that way.
Can't seem to think of any other way to try.
Can anyone help ?
Thanks in advance,
Mike

It might be looking in the registry for the location? If so, you would need to use a tool like the Registry Repair Tool to change that to your FSSW folder.
The other way to do that would be to temporarily rename your FS folder to something else (I.e. add Temp to the folder name, for example) and rename your FSSW folder to the original name of the FS folder. Then try to install?

Did that with the renaming. No go. Registry repair huh? will look into that.
Thanks Tom

Of course the program may have other limits, like only allowing one FS2004 installation on a given computer.

Tried the registry repair to no avail. Never considered the 1 install per computer but that sounds like a reasonable (to the manufacturer anyway) thing. How does that work anyway ? And I suppose there's no way around it.

The program probably puts an entry into the registry itself?
