I just downloaded the best aircraft I have ever found for hand flying in FS2004. It's a Cessna O-1D that comes in both Army and Air Force livery. The Army designation is L-17.
It is the closest thing I have ever found to replicate the handling of a real light aircraft in a flight simulator. It's very easy to trim for hands off straight and level flying.
l19v2mil.zip and l19v2mfix.zip can be found at Flightsim.com. Be sure to install the fix because the plane won't fly at all without it.
I don't what the filenames are for AVSIM.com. Most of the time I can't even get onto that site and when I can it's as slow as the old 300 baud connections. Not worth the trouble.

Just a quick mail to say I agree with Birdguy - the aircraft is really nice to fly. As well as the 2 military models there are 2 float, 2 ski & 2 wheel models. I did ask for the fix at flightsim.com but it was not found. The only fix is for re-painters to fix a window frame. As far as I can see the fix may well have been incorporated into the model - it certainly flies well. On another topic I was both saddened & disappointed to hear about Avsim - there are some vindictive b******s about - if only they could put their hacking talents into something worthwhile instead.
