8-)That makes two of us. Has it been that long? I can recall when the only downloads were available from Compuserve. It was touch and go in those days.

I just made an offical announcement on behalf of the Retro AI Traffic Group on our forum. I am asking our members to post links of their works once on Avsim to a new board, hopefully we can recover them all and upload them to a new Avsim in the future. I do have an old hard drive taken from my old computer that has a lot of sim files on it. I can't say for sure what's there, but I'm pretty sure I have most of the paintkits as well as my sceneries. I will take a look and post a list over the weekend.

One other thought Ken Mitchell's panels might be gone. Although I think many have made their way over to Flightsim and other sites.

A lot of unique files are probably gone for good, unless their author uploaded them elsewhere as well. An emblematic example is the Breguet deux-pont for FS9, now impossible to find.

Hi, Ray, I have all Ken Mitchell's panels. I downloaded them the week before he closed his webpage. (That happened roughly around when the panel for Mike Stone's B-314 was being built to go with FSAviator's flight dynamics.) I also have all Mike Stone's planes...as originally packaged. Just drop me a note if you need any of them. ;D To the news story about AVSIM at the BBC, journalism simply isn't what it once was. The days of teaching "investigative journalism" are over ...for the moment. Just remember ANY publicity is GOOD publicity! ;D Yours,

Randy, Thanks for the offer I have his 314 panel backed up (I think). It's the main one I'm using. I was thinking of the other patrons of his panels and the sad fact he has ceased creating panels for our enjoyment.

With Avsim down, where can I get the files here that are linked there? And are ALL the files there lost/gone for good?

Stand by. Tom at AVSIM says he hopes to know the status of their library files by Sunday - let's keep very good thoughts in our hearts that all will be recovered...

Alright, let's just wait and hope that ALL the files will be recovered. IMO, the culprit behind the attacks should be arrested severely punished for causing such inconvenience to the community.

IMO, the culprit behind the attacks should be arrested severely punished for causing such inconvenience to the community. I don't want to sound snarky, but IMMHO it's most strange we haven't heard yet no single hacker nor hacker group boasting having razed AVsim on the ground. That kind of people lives of this kind of hidden public exposure.
