Hi,
I am creating separate aircraft folders for each model of the L-1049G. The first folder I created is "Lockheed_L1049G_vc_rst". The second folder I created is for the "vc_rs" version. For this version, I decided to alias the panel to the panel folder in "Lockheed_L1049G_vc_rst". In the panel folder for the "vc_rs" folder, I made the following entry: alias=Lockheed_L1049G_vc_rst\panel.
When I open FS9 and select the Eastern Airlines scheme (which requires the "vc-rs" model), I get the default Cessna panel. I have double checked for typos, etc., but am unable to figure out why the correct panel does not appear.
Any suggestions would be very welcome.
Thanks,
Gary

Check for extra spaces after/before the folder names and text files lines?

alias=Lockheed_L1049G_vc_rst\panel
The slash is backwards...it should read:
alias=Lockheed_L1049G_vc_rst/panel
Hope this helps
Chris
PS When no panel is present in the aircraft folder MS loads the panel from the last loaded aircraft ie. the default Cessna.

Tom:
Thanks! I had an extra space between the underscore and the rest of the text in my aircraft folder name. Guess I need new glasses!
Chris:
Thanks for the tip. However, I have used the backslash in my other aliases without any problems.

You can do the same with the sound
And if you are in FSX you can do even more with textures
In the team we have an ongoing discussion about the multifolder structure but it makes big downloads for FS2004 huge

I'm not sure why it should make for much larger downloads - the only things you would need to duplicate are the AIR file and the aircraft.cfg file; neither are very large...
