HI, As everybody might know.. American Airlines never operated L-749. But.. their international career "American Overseas Airlines" operated L-049. As we don't have L-049s by Manfred. I have decided to do it on 749. Here are some preview. with AA stairs. NC90923 "Flagship Great Britain" later "Flagship Scotland" These are completly finished works. So will be uploaded at AVSIM and FLightsim.com. Regards.

Nice job! A few minor points (perhaps for version 2). 1. The orange stripe along the trailing edge of the wing ends behind the inner engine (in a curve). 2. I'm not positive about the L-049, but all the AAL schemes I've seen from this era also have an orange stripe along the trailing edge of the elevators. They usually end in a curve just before the fuselage. 3. The cheat line between the lightning stripe and the nose patch narrows down towards the nose so the fine pinstripes almost touch each other just before the nose patch flares out. 4. The cheat line at the rear of the fuselage narrows a little more slowly to a longer "end point". Hope this helps,

Thank you for the points, Tom As they are not yet uploaded at AVSIM and other sites. I think I might correct 1,2 and 4 as soon as possible. But not sure about 3. does it mean that the line was curved? Regards.

It looks to me like the logo is the the wrong way round....that is a starboard orientation on the port side ??

Tom, I'd like to thank you for the quality and content of your post. You started off by complimenting the painter and then offering some helpful friendly advice as to how he might make his paint even more realistic if he chose to. Too often in our hobby critics leave out the compliment, the helpful and the friendly. I for one really appreciate the great example you set.

Thanks. I just think "If he were sending this message to me, how would I like it to read?" It's pretty easy after that.

Hi! Sak I fully agree with that! Dennis It is looking beautifully on the L-749 and I am sure it will be great once finished. May I ask if you would consider doing the same for the FSDZigns L-049A if you would be so kind? Thank you! Soft Landings!

Once again, Thank you for the points Tom. Did some rework on them... As you have told me.. Orange colors on wings have been circled on the end. And Colors on the elevator been added. As seen on your Convair picture links, I tried to modify the lightning stripe. AA logo that Garry pointed out was inverted And also.. the end of the Stripe at the Aft Fuselage was extended. How does it look? I'm not sure about the color on the elevator either. No pictures provided.. And lightning stripe, again comparing with the convair picture, I think I need rework on it, more narrow stripe might be needed. Ricardo : Thank you. As I know a repaint for FSDZigns L-049 is available on AVSIM. I used it for my reference file. Regards.

Hi,
Wow, what an improvement - that thing looks great.
Yes, the stripe could be narrower at the very front - other than that you've got it as close as I could ever get it. I think the elevator stripe looks just fine, since I have no pictures of it.
Thanks,

Looks great! I'm a big fan of paint schemes that feature lots of bare metal where the actual paint is minimal, clean looking and detailed. This American livery fits that perfectly. Very nice.

Hi, I beleive this is the final update for AOA Connie. I've got the lightning stripes as close as possible. Upper wing texture is finished As you can see here, The lightning stripes has been reworked as narrow as possible I can get. Rotate. One problem is this. The sunglare panel. As I don't have real picture of Real AA Connie, I used repleca model as reference file. Short panel was placed in front of Cockpit windows. Approaching KPDX As seen before, paint on elevator was added. I think I have done everything I could. If it seems to be done, I'll upload the repaint at AVSIM and Flightsim.com tonight. maybe available tomorrow. Thanks to Tom for great help. And thank you Gary & Sak Regards.
