Hi, I did some Convair painting today... Using this.. for reference picture www.airliners.net/photo/United-Airlines/Convair-340-31/1342494/L/I'm not sure if there is a repaint of this bird, in this color. It's.. "United Airlines CV-340 in Jet Delivery color"I'm not sure if the color is right... and I'm not sure, if I will release this or not...

Nice repaint. But man, that is one of the ugliest planes i have ever seen. Far from as sexy as a Connie^^

;D Oh No! A heretic! Burn him, burn him! They have radial engines and propellors - what more could anyone want? The Convair twins are great little planes to fly, and if you look on flightsim you will find a flightplan for delivering one from the USA to Oz, the long way. That said, they are not quite as cute as the chubby, stubby Vikings by Rick Piper, or the Cunliffe-Owen Concordia from rareliners - but they are damned good and a delight to fly. ATB ;D MikeW

The paint scheme is rendered very beautifully and I don't doubt it's authenticity but I was flying Convairs for United toward their end on the line and I don't recall ever seeing this particular one.
The reason I don't doubt that it flew in these colors is because I remember United trying and then rejecting several different schemes for various aircraft in the fleet. One would be the DC-8.
As far as I know a different scheme would only be tried on one aircraft and then accepted or rejected for that aircraft's fleet.
Happy New Year to all, Quink

Thank you every one... Quink : Thank you for your comment, quink. I don't know if all the convairs had this repaint or not until the end on their line. But one thing I know is. One aircraft, N73154,It did exist in that color. I'm not sure it did operate in that color, or it was only a test bed. But one thing I know is, It did exist. If you go and see the link on the original post, You'll see the picture taken at Santa Anna John Wayne in late 60s. Go see the post and you'll get what I mean. Happy New year to all. Regards.

It was quite common if a fleet was soon to be retired to paint one in the new livery for publicity purposes.

Maybe its at Hillosboro or Troutedale?
