Here is a little travel log of my flight from KLAX to KSUS in the TWA L-749. Just having some fun. Hope you all enjoy. Starting engines on the KLAX ramp. Departing 25R into prevailing wind. Climbing to cruise alt over San Bernardino. Settled in over the high desert. Daylight is fading fast. Dinner service to start soon. Chicken or fish? Grabbing a quick dinner while the copliot has the con. Time to visit with the passengers and pass out a few "wings" for the kids. Steady as she goes. This nice tailwind will get us to St. Louis a little early. Descent into the St. Louis area. It's cold out there! All lined up on approach. The engineer is real good about calling out altitude. Touchdown! Boy, listen to those brakes squeak. Parked for the night. Short ride over to the hotel and then back to sunny California in the morning. I use the Duenna flight authenticator for these type flights:

Hi,
Nice shots and a good story as well!
No more 'wings' passed out to the kids now, with the crew locked down in the cockpit. Not all progress is worth the losses that tag along with it.
Andy.

Real nice Moses, remember well when the cockpit crew could walk back into the cabin and hand out pilot and stew pins.

I used to collect those metal and plastic kids pilot wings as recently as 5-6 years ago. Had a nice little collection. Nobody gives those out any more.
Air travel today lacks so many of the old amenities, but also is likely faster and safer than ever. I laughed when you had the "Chicken or Fish" comment! Now its sun chips or biscotti cookies and thats only in First Class (US domestic).
Nice shots Eric

Nice! I had to go looking for KSUS (Spirit of St. Louis airport), since KSTL is where TWA landed in our era.
Thanks,

Thanks for the comments fellas. I guess we can only dream about plastic wings and actual food now!
You are right Tom. I should have put down at KSTL to be more accurate. Next time will study the TWA timetable a little better.

Not online but was in realtime. My original plan was to fly to New York but I ran out of time to manage the flight.

Take 2. Miami to Boston onboard the great Silver bird. Holding short runway 9R. Away she goes. "Gear up!" Cruising over Florida. Should have the Daytona beacon soon. "This is your Captain, if you look out the left side you will see big Lake Okeechobee." Pretty day along the Atlantic seaboard. Time to let the copliot take over so I can chat up the Stews. Where did the daylight go? "By the light of the silvery moon." Descending into Boston. Lots of traffic this evening will have to circle a couple of times. Down safe in Boston! Warm sunny Miami is a distant memory now.

Just wondering if the text on the bottom of each screenshot is something you put there or if a program does it . Great shots by the way

I use a screenshot utility called "Snapper". It automatically adds in the location and altitude (if you have that setting ticked in the options). www.ovosoft.net/snapper/Moses
