hiii Tom ;D Analyzing this update, and once that i use the normal panel and not the high resolution version, the only difference between this version and the previous is just the Autopilot location and the Pedestal. Being so, I'd like to use my DC-6 Panel, customized for American airlines layout, based on really DC-6 cockpits, with the gauges on the proper place, so just to update my version i only need to bring to my panel the pedestal.... wright? The rest is the same and the gauges are the same... Correct? Take care... Luis

Yes, that's correct. AFAIK all you would need to bring over is the panel.cfg and the pedestal bitmap. One thing I think I forgot to do is to copy over the new gray panel bitmap into the DC-6 panel; I'll get to that eventually (although it's nice to have two different panels, it means the VC and 2D now have different color panels).
Hope this helps,

Hi Tom! Can I make my first complain? ;D Can we have the AP back on the centre as it was for the Normal Panel, please? Or could you tell me what I'll need to change? I always loved the fact that the AP is there easy to get to and to operate! Thanks! Soft Landings! P.S. BTW the cawlings on the DC-7 UAL Base Pack are transparent at night: one can see the windows!

Hi, I'm not sure about the cowls - mine aren't. Try downloading these files and put them in the DC-7 texture.united folder, overwriting the originals: www.calclassic.com/Temp/dc7cowls.zipSure, you can add back the autopilot. Add this line to the end of the main panel section of the panel.cfg file in the dc7pnlkmcc folder: Normal screen panel: gauge74=Z_DC6KMTG!AP_NEW, 1045,113,380,80 Wide screen panel: gauge80=Z_DC6KMTG!AP_NEW, 1227,113,380,80 Hope this helps,

Hi again,
Robert discovered that a bit of the DC-6B inner fuselage was peeking out in the right rear - all of the MDL files (CB-16 and CB-17) have now been updated to eliminate this.
Hope this helps,

Hi,
Oops - I made a mistake on the line for the wide screen panel. The first number (1045) will need to be increased. I've edited my post above to give the correct results.
Hope this helps,

Your ARE quick, Tom. Fixing it faster then i can make the download. The plane gets better and better, i like the new possibilities with the fuel valves. One thing, could you PLEASE make the ones in the VC finally useable? They have been sitting there from the beginning of the VC, but never were much use. Now they could and the plane would be the same in the VC as in 2D. And a BIG thx for your continuing effort, its good to know there is allways something new getting to your site.

Luis Passos has been testing the new fuel levers and has found that when crossfeed is engaged no fuel is being drawn from one of the main tanks, leading to an unbalanced fuel load. Glenn also found this symptom, but did not discover why. This is true even though the SDK says that the crossfeed setting will draw fuel from *all* tanks. I may have to reprogram the levers so during crossfeed they draw fuel from specific tanks, switching perhaps once a minute, to keep things balanced. I hate the FS fuel system...

...I hate the FS fuel system... This is because you never tried to get a gander at the fuel management of X-plane, or you'd be relieved beyond belief. A friend of mine is in fact trying to program a L-749A for X-plane 9, and seen he is a Linux user, I'm helping him keeping his plane ( actually at 50% of its completion) as similar under the point of view of the performances, to your very own recently gotten out L-749A ( and before then, I gave him inputs based on the revised dynamics of the FSDzign L-049)... and only recently I began getting a deeper look on the finest art of trying to tweak the half ready plane myself, to make it go as it should, instead of relaying to my friend and then hope he got it right. Among the things I tried ( key word) to obtain was a certain similarity in fuel management... only to run headlong into a concrete wall of complications, limitations, hardly believable snags of every kind and debating choices of programming, to circumvent the most of which I should try and program a plug-in of X-plane in C++... ...and seen my knowledge of C++ compares to my knowledge of Arabic, and my willingness to patch X-plane 9 only to see my work dashed in its next sub-release is on par to my willingness to change gender... I'm not going there. ;D

Hi all,
I have uploaded a new version of the DC-6 panel (in the UAL DC-6B) that I hope fixes the fuel crossfeed problem. I found that when you activate crossfeed in FS (or even change the fuel tanks to ALL), that FS would not use one of the center tanks, no matter their arrangment.
So I had to change the main tanks to be External1 and External2. Now when crossfeed is activated, they will be used first, and then as they are exhausted FS will switch automatically to the AUX tanks. Not perfect but better than before.
Unfortunately, this means that all other DC-6, DC-6A, DC-6B, DC-7, DC-7B, and DC-7C Base Packs will need to be downloaded again, or you can make the change in the aircraft.cfg file yourself. In the [fuel] section, Center1 needs to be changed to External1 and Center2 needs to be changed to External2.
The oil system should also be fixed, and will respond correctly if you Pause the sim or increase the Sim Rate.
Hope this helps,

Hi,
I have uploaded new models in the DC-6, and DC-6B Base Packs with darker cockpit windows, by popular request. I can't update the DC-6A, since those GMAX files were lost in a computer crash.
Hope this helps,

Hi,
Just the MDL file is new in this latest update, if you already have the new oil and fuel gauges and panel.cfg file from the previous update.
Hope this helps,

Sorry, another update.
Someone mentioned that there may be problems with oil consumption, depending on the panels that are loaded at the moment. This turns out to be true. If you loaded the aircraft in the VC, for example, you only get half the oil consumption of the 2D panel.
So I had to edit the OIL QUANT gauges and move the oil consumption code into the FUEL TANK SET gauge, and now your plane will always consume the same amount of oil, no matter what panel you have loaded. BTW, oil consumption is also dependent on the engines' RPM.
BTW, you only have to download and install the UAL DC-6B *or* the UAL DC-7 to get the new gauges - you don't need to install both.
Thanks,
