Hey guys, i just installed FS9 again, and i am delighted to see my fps stable at 30 when locked there, and still have everything on high and running REX with it. But i have some questions: 1: Can i remove the 2D cockpit views from the view cycle? 2: Does anyone know how to get more of those special building on cities, so that you can see what city it is? I saw Rotterdam had nothing i see in real life, those buildings i do see in FSX. I run the sliders of stuff on max. 3: Any nice things you guys know to add to FS9 ?
It is a delight to see the fps be so high compared to FSX

Hi,
There is a panel gauge (by Doug Dawson, as I remember) that will remove a view from the cycle, but I thought that it was the VC...
Don't know about the rest.
Hope this helps,

If you have all sliders set to the far right and the auto gen selector is checked you are getting everything that the default FS can show.
Usually detailed and accurate buildings are few in Europe in general except for a few cities where MS felt it needed a bit more such as Berlin,Paris,Rome and London.
I think the SimOuthouse had a nice thread a while back for the best freeware goodies for FS9 on that simulators sub-site. Too many to re-list here.
You might want to check there and see if it had any recommendations for the areas you are most interested in.

Hi,
Doug Dawson's useful gauge will skip VC or 2D views.
Andy.

Coenraad - Just be aware that Sim OutHouse are in the process of moving all the goodies to a new server, and that will maybe take another couple of weeks before the job is finished, so some downloads might not be available right now. There is a huge amount of freeware scenery for FS9. This is a good list to start with: walhalla.mine.nu/fs2004.phpOf course with so many links there are always some dead ones - as with S-O-H, the volunteers who run it have day jobs, families and other RL stuff to spoil their simming hobby You could also search for fsnordic, but I expect you already know of them. Ah, i will keep that in mind when trying to download. I heard about fsnordic a while ago, but had forgotten about it.

Guys i have been trying to find that gauge now for 1 hour, and i am googeling and checking avsim and some other sim sites, but i just can't seem to get a hold of it. All i get is tons of other panels and stuff? i saw the file was called dsd_view_skip.zip, but cannot find that either.

About Rotterdam: Harry's, Wolfgang's, Tom's and Jaap's Rotterdam Airport scenery contain scenery for Rotterdam and its harbour - back in 1963, of course.

Hi, Yes, a bit hard to find!
I have found 2 aircraft that contain it and the line of text you need to change in the panel folder .
1. ''b50f_911.zip'' on Flightsim.
and
2. Tom Kohler's P-47M-1 Base Package.
Good Hunting.
Andy.

Hi, I put the 'dsd_viewskip.gau' in my main FS9 gauges folder and the text part I've got in a folder with all my downloads. "" Gauge syntax: gauge35=dsd_view_skip!no_2d, 0,0,5,5 or gauge35=dsd_view_skip!no_vc, 0,0,5,5 "" These 2 lines come from the text that come with the gauge and this is how you get the gauge to work...and all kudos to Doug Dawson for creating such a wonderful add-on Let's say you have an aircraft without a VC and you want to miss the empty view. In the Main Window of the panel .cfg there are 42 gauges for example and so you would just copy/paste the lower of the 2 lines below the last numbered gauge and then change the number of the view skip gauge to 43, so it would read: gauge43=dsd_view_skip!no_vc, 0,0,5,5 and save the change and that's it. Andy.

Hallo to all, a very good scenery for the netherlands can be downloaded at www.nl-2000.com/nuke/ . It's for free but you must download 26 GB via a bittorrent. But it is very good! best regards Holger
