The main airspace control radar of the Biggest international airport in Rio de Janeiro has broken down. Luckely there was a Warning Star wich had arrived one day ago for a stop in between flights. After some calling around the USAF agreed to let the WS be used as backup due to the cloudy conditions. A data link will be established so the ground crew gets the radar image straight from the WS. Getting ready for takeoff: On duty in the early rainy and cloudy morning: Clouds as far as the eye can see. Against the burning horizon. The clouds are finaly desolving, and it clears up. The USAf agrees to have the WS in use untill the radar has been fixed. The WS was landed and refueled so it could be airborne for many hours to come. Passing the nereby airfield on departure to the east out over the harbour. Passing over the nice coastal waters. Over a residential area. Turning over the bridge and getting ready to climb to 4000ft again to start the patrol. The mission was a great succes and as a result all airtraffic was being able to land scheluded and go on as normal.

Looks good, but the PR connie never went that far south and did not do airtraffice control. They did airborne intercept and search.
