I can't find that thread to Flight Magazine that someone posted a while back about the BOAC Stratocruiser deliveries in 1949. But I am very grateful.
Since I started making models of the B377 out of balsa wood --- because there was no Revell or Monogram plastic model ------ and painting them in Transocean colors I had to guess at the shade of yellow they used. I have asked surviving ex-employees of the airline what that color was and no one remembers. When you take into account shadow and sun shining on the yellow color it is next to impossible to know what you are really looking at. Anyway in a later article the color was revealed along with the real color of the light blue logo on the tail and forward fuselage. I have the RGB values!
Those archives are a treasure of information. The Irregular Air Carriers CAB case is described in great detail. I never knew that Transocean was flying passengers from the West Coast to the East Coast in 1960 for $85 when the established trunks - ie TWA, United, etc were charging over $100 one way. Great stuff. Wonderful archive!

Oh yes indeed. The survey of all international airports (1958 through 1964) is invaluable for scenery builders. Lots of good photos too.
